  2. How 'bout a few aerials, leaving Salt Lake City headed to Phoenix, January 24th, 2012... ...over the Grand Canyon...
  3. My wife and I discovered this great restaurant, Mountain Oasis, across the street from that plaza - awesome food, try it out if you find yourself in Flagstaff... ...her dinner... ...and mine...
  4. These benches were in a plaza in Downtown Flagstaff, Arizona - phone cameras make it so easy to capture moments in time...
  5. I agree with the stopping to see things while travelling - here's a few from Massachusetts...
  6. Ask the photographer what he used - there are numerous programs out there - I was just showing you what it looked like before manipulation.
  7. Here's some without the software treatment... 040512 Wigwam Motel Holbrook Arizona 067 by SoCalCarCulture, on Flickr 040512 Wigwam Motel Holbrook Arizona 068 by SoCalCarCulture, on Flickr 040512 Wigwam Motel Holbrook Arizona 070 by SoCalCarCulture, on Flickr 040512 Wigwam Motel Holbrook Arizona 072 by SoCalCarCulture, on Flickr
  8. Unfortunately the food wasn't great, they don't get good reviews but the Diner is a visual treat. Now if the owner would match the food quality to the Million Dollar restoration of the Diner he would draw people from great distances!
  9. A couple years ago while driving back roads in Utah I came around a corner and was greeted by this Diner... 072410 Road Island Diner Oakley Utah 002 by SoCalCarCulture, on Flickr Seems that is was purchased at auction and moved here from Rhode Island. The Diner has an incredible history, having been built for and shown at the '39 NY Worlds Fair. Size is 16' x 60'. You can read all about it here 072410 Road Island Diner Oakley Utah 015 by SoCalCarCulture, on Flickr 072410 Road Island Diner Oakley Utah 027 by SoCalCarCulture, on Flickr See all the pics here or a slideshow here and if you're ready to build your own here's a plan... 10. Not the first time - here's the frame from the last version, they crashed that one in Japan if I remember correctly. 071109 Mooneyes BBQ 015 by SoCalCarCulture, on Flickr
  11. Google it! - I'd try Amazon for pricing, they are obviously more than your standard cards but not too expensive.
  12. Funny thing, I just received this Industry Publication which discusses the same thing. You guys with a strong interest in this might enjoy reading through it... 6Sight It's a pdf so give it time to open!
  13. For those of you with cameras that accept SD cards there is a product called Eye-Fi, I was a beta tester for these when they first became available. They listened to all our comments and these work well now, wireless transfer to your computer, tablet or phone.
  14. Like Jeff says consider what you want the camera for - but remember it's just a tool to capture images. Most people never learn anything about photography but a little knowledge of those tools can go a long way toward improving your images and make it easier to wade through all the camera offerings out there.
  15. Which segment of the Digital Camera market? Point & shoots are being replaced by phones with ever increasing quality. The DSLR market is shifting some users to the mirrorless cameras with interchangeable lenses. I think the idea of creating a camera for every price point has confused many consumers, there are simply too many choices. What type of camera were you thinking about when you posed the question?
  16. My current avatar is the hood ornament on a '42 Mercury just because I like the look and how many of you have seen a '42 Merc - not too many out there!
  17. Barry likes it better when you know how to spell his name!
  18. Hey Guys - don't procrastinate if you're going to use that link for subscriptions - got an update this morning that those prices expire tomorrow, May 25, 2012!
  19. I got an email from Source Interlink yesterday offering Motor Trend Classic subscriptions for $20/yr - others available too... https://www.circsour...urceCode=I2EQ69
  20. Their showroom is very cool, look through my album to see the rest and if you're ever in Sacramento it's worth an hour to browse through there!
  21. Speaking of Diorama possibilities, I was in Sacramento a couple months ago and had time to stop by Sacramento Vintage Ford (they sell vintage Ford parts) and this scene in their showroom really lends itself to a scale diorama! They also have this "Refreshment Area" to entice customers to hang out while deciding what to buy, another Diorama inspiration... See all the pics from my visit HERE
  22. I was wandering around Gruene, TX last fall and stumbled on this '71 Pontiac Ventura, when's the last time you saw one of these?
  23. Here's one that found me, I was stopped at a light in Tucson and this pulled up in the turn lane next to me - camera phones are great for taking pics like this!
