  1. Those pics are way off in color balance - try these, click on the pic to see the rest...
  2. The Surfite currently sits in a private collection here in SoCal...
  3. Thanks for that info Dan, I wasn't aware of the differences, couldn't see the images you posted either - here's a '30 I saw this morning at Cars & Coffee Irvine...
  4. Danno - you are probably correct, I didn't research this particular car, just fell in love with it at this year's Wavecrest show! That car just grabbed me and when the side curtain question came up I remembered the the "roll-ups" on this one. You know my love for Woodies if you've looked through my albums - I'll shoot anything with a wood body! Tell me more about the Murray Bodied wagons.
  5. Beautiful Model! Love the Koa. Harry - here's a real '32 - no glass! Here's the "side glass" in the open position...
  6. Interesting story, I shot those pics about 5 years ago at a show in SoCal.
  7. You guys might get a kick out of this one I built back around '68-'69, started with a stock Manx body and built it up with something called plastic balsa. Mixed metalflake with clear and brushed it on then sprayed many, many coats of AMT clear lacquer on until it covered the metalflake. Yeah there are a few flaws but it's amazing that it has survived all these years!
  8. Hemi refers to a hemispherical combustion chamber - not exclusive to the Mopar 426!
  9. Here's more on that '56, took these a couple months ago at the Del Mar Concours d'Elegance ... ...this one obviously has dual carbs... More pics of it here
  10. No, not mine but I keep looking for the right one to park in my backyard and convert to my office!
  11. You might want to check my vintage travel trailer albums for interior and exterior inspiration...
  12. Here's a few more reference pics for you Hudson fans including lots of Twin H Power engine pics, I'll keep posting these in my blog and the link the pic takes you to will automatically add any new posts I make, so check back from time to time! Click on the pic to see all the Hudson posts on my Blog...
  13. Lots of cool stuff in here, click on the pic to see a slideshow of this year's Mooneyes Open House & BBQ!
  14. Click on this one for a slideshow of this year's Wavecrest National Woodie Show - the largest gathering of Woodies in the World!
  15. Like Gerry said - if you have PowerPoint it's much easier to arrange images than Word - try it if you have it you'll never go back!
  16. Isn't this more what they looked like with that side trim? The amber on the headlights was less pronounced also...
  17. Can't tell you who cast those but this might inspire you to get the first one built. From this year's Mooneyes Open House & BBQ...
  18. This link will take you to more fonts for license plates along with explanations on who uses what type style.
  19. Jon - you can also check here to find most blanks although at a lower res and you'll still have to add the lettering.
  20. Jon - Like I said in my post it only takes a couple minutes in Photoshop to create what you want, maybe not as easy as ACME Platemaker but not hard. Here's your blank... ...and one to scale...
  21. Google! But seriously Jon a simple search will provide current plates and a few minutes with image editing software and the correct font will allow you to create what you need.
  22. Flying is easy if you follow the procedures like others said - it's the clueless who slow down the process. I haven't checked a bag for about 30 years, if you can't carry it on board you don't need it or you can ship it ahead. Those with carry-ons that are too big have to check them. Harry - try flying out of Midway instead of O'Hare - so much easier! ...and like Rob said how would you get to all those cool destinations, like Hawaii, a boat trip takes too long!
