You can always check my site - SoCalCarCulture to see what's happening in both Full Scale and Small Scale car events! -
Interesting, here's something similar that I saw a couple weeks ago. Tell us why you mounted the roll bar that way?

How Technologically Savvy Are You?

Bart & Rob - I think you both make good points. Technology may contribute to the lack of social skills but there is more to that issue that's hard to pinpoint. -

You can rationalize anything of course but in today's business world it's nice to be able to respond from anywhere at any time! ...and you can always turn it off or ignore it! -

Is this for real?

Jay has had that for a while, I was at his garage a couple years ago and Bernard (His mechanic/right hand/guru) was explaining that one of the things they use it for the the most is to replicate water pumps. They can do a 3d scan on the old pump and then create a new one, adding any missing pieces along the way, they can then test fit it and machine it to fit, after that the send the printed version out as a master to cast a new one and offer the parts for sale to other restorers that need that particular part. What a great way to preserve truly antique cars! They had a sample to show people what was possible, it was a crescent wrench that was just like the original except it was printed in a resin material, everything worked on it! -

Do your research, I was questioning the naysayers who haven't, not looking for comments like yours. -

Why do you guys look at details that you may think haven't been worked out when you don't fully understand the technology? Why not look forward with ideas on how to use these and let the engineers solve the ability to do what you can dream? Seeing one of the higher end machines in use and observing the final product is believing! -

Harry makes a great point here, but I don't know if everyone understands the ability to conceptualize in your head, I think most designers work this way. Like having a small tv in your head, now if I could just attach a hard drive to it to capture some of those concepts before the next one knocks tha last one out of memory! -

Why wouldn't you keep up with technology - it's how we all communicate these days. My years of graphic design, computer graphics and web development not to mention photography all required the constant learning curve to ride the wave. They were all so closely entwined that if you didn't move forward you ceased to be useful. Photoshop is just another tool, if you need it you will learn how to use it, same with any other software. My smartphone is in reality a smaller tablet, yet it still is big enough to read magazines on and really fills the need for a tablet while still fitting my pocket. I keep forgetting about it's high quality camera and video capabilities but plan to use the video part more this year. Besides all the above it's great to learn new stuff everyday, keeps you young, I'm only 61!
