  1. Very nicely done Blair , the overall appearance and he engine detailing are top shelf ! In spite of the not so stock items being pointed out , it still looks like a nice stock build to me .
  2. Sweet lookin' CHEV ! It deserves to have a RF decal !
  3. Great looking old '32 , nice work !
  4. Great looking old Dodge !
  5. Thanks Ron ! I've always ignored these early Monogram kits but now that I've restored a couple I really like them !
  6. Thanks very much Bill ! The plastic has to be prepped before paint anyway , so I figured why not polish it a little bit and clear it . I'm very happy with the results .
  7. That's very cool , great idea !
  8. Thanks Bob ! I printed decals that are basically a blue background on white decal paper . The white is still a bit transparent and some of the edges show where I cut the paper but they turned out okay . I have a set of new decals from Billy Gooche that I'm saving for one of the new kits .
  9. Thank you everybody , I appreciate the comments ! Thanks Peter ! It's one light coat of TS-13 , let it flash (about 10 min.) , then one wetcoat . No polishing .
  10. They are both beautiful Ron , and I love your photography ! I recently rediscovered these old 1/24th kits too and I can't get enough of them !
  11. This is a restoration of an original model that I actually built when I was a kid , maybe 11 or 12 years old ! I used only the original parts with no extra detailing or aftermarket goodies , and the only modification I made was to add the poseable steering . It was in pretty bad shape so after I cleaned everything I polished the blue plastic and cleared it with TS-13 . The chrome was stripped and sprayed with Alcad Chrome . And I made my own decals . Here's what I started with And here's the finished restoration .
  12. Beautiful Nomad Steve ! Don't see too many of these any more , probably because the Revell kit has been the only game in town . The MCM body looks very very good !
  13. You're more than welcome to enter Joseph ! The deadline to enter is Mar . 31st , 2015 .
  14. There is so much "Imagineering" in your builds that they always amaze me , thanks for sharing them again ! I'm always drawn back to the little modified Flying Sub in your AT Speeder display . . . it's so cool !
  15. Great looking '62 Jim , and the interior decals look pretty cool ! The 70's were pretty good to me too .
  16. If you make your own decals you know that they are always transparent , so I've been playing with that for window tint . I printed a black decal on clear paper and used it for the strip across the top of a windshield , it worked great ! You can vary the shade from black to light grey and even colors .
  17. This package arrived today from Revell courtesy of Ed Sexton . It looks like each winner will be receiving a Glitter Bug along with their other prizes !
  18. Ooooooooo that's nice ! I never would have thought of a '39 Chevy being cool , but you nailed it !
  19. That's GREAT !
  20. I just looked at the post you're talking about and I think the problem may be that there is no selling allowed on this forum .
  21. This is looking really sharp Bruce , I'd love to see more of it too ! And I'm really interested in those wheels but can't find them anywhere . Can you post a pic of the boxtop ?
  22. Excellent ! This kit just looks FUN !
