  1. Nice job Al !
  2. Nice work.
  3. I got the Beatnik Bandit kit and JF resin custom hot rod Lincoln body. Plan is to use the resin body on the Bandit chassis.
  4. Thanks Jim. Not sure where they were tested and I did find one photo where one was launched over water. That's where I got the idea. I think it was a test to counter the bouce back of the wheel assembly.
  5. The plane. Rocket powered fighter aircraft. 1 st. flight Aug. 13 th. 1941. Top speed was around 600 mph. 370 were built. There was several variations. Took off on wheels and wheels were then released. It was equiped with a retractable skid which was used for landing. Many were damaged by the wheels as they would sometimes bounce up and hit the plane. Fuel time was about 7 1/2 minutes. The plane was not very effective. The kit. Heller 1/72 ME 163 Komet. Rear fin and underside is light blue. Top side is Olive Drab and green. Plane was given a coat of satin clear to even out paint and decaled. The diorama. Used a base from Hobby Lobby which was stained and cleared. Used some styrofoam covered with Celuclay to form the hill. Sheet plastic was used to make water section. It was painted blue and then covered with Vallejo water effects. Ground work was painted and dry brushed. Some grass was applied and some small bushes. Cotton was used for the smoke and the ditched wheels are in the water.
  6. Thank you much !
  7. Thanks guys. I used all kit parts . Used 2 Revell dragster kits. Just kinda Mickey Moused the rear end. Actually kinda Mickey Moused the whole thing !
  8. Cool !
  9. Nice work !
  10. I'll bring my own onions, what time do we eat ! : )
  11. Very nice.
  12. Sweet !
  13. Very nice set up.
  14. I have had slivers of foil pull up paint a time or two but I believe I cut too deep when trying to trim. When that happens I just shoot some color into a paint can top and then touch up with a small brush. Normally you can't even notice. Just use a new blade and don't try and cut too deep and you should be ok.
  15. Just another Cobra for the collection.
  16. Make sure your paint it dry before you clear and make sure you let the clear dry fully before you foil. Peal the extra foil off slowly and carefully and you should be ok. How are you pulling off the excess foil ?
  17. While I think those are cool I can't help thinking how much better they would look with a nice paint job. But that is just one guys opinion .
  18. I look around quite a bit but seldom look in the Nascar section.
  19. Make sure you use a brand new blade if you decide to go the BMF route.
  20. That's an eye catcher to be sure.
  21. Seldom more that one. Never more than two but normally 4 or 5 in the planning stage.
