Those cars are pretty cool little rides on their own. I would forgo the flames ( just don't think they" fit "the cars style ). Swap the wheels and tires ( after you wear out those or use as a trade in ) and then some tastefull pinstriping and call it done. Lowering may make it look better but messes up the ride IMO. I have a 2004 Mustang GT which had been lowered by the dealer before I bought it ( it was new ) and it looks good but rides rough and you have to watch every driveway and dip in the road plus the speed bumps they have in some shopping centers. It's a pain, again just my opinion.
