  1. The excess plastic? No.
  2. Love this!! Great job on everything!
  3. Here is my friend's 41 ford meat truck he recently got. http://instagram.com/p/gIxDRvLCvC/
  4. Hah! Thanks for posting the pics!
  5. Why aren't people allowed to purchase extra parts from Revell? If something is legitimately damaged, it would be easy to prove, and should be replaced without charge. If parts are missing, it's a little more difficult to produce proof of something that's not there. Unless it's one or two parts from the sprue that wound up on the floor in china. But why isn't there a section to just buy whatever parts you want? Maybe-doubtfully-enough people would be purchasing the same parts from a certain kit, and that would lead Revell to start issuing parts packs again? Of parts we actually want. But again, doubtful.
  6. Requiring proof or purchase is understandable. But having to pay for parts that are either missing from the kit, or broken, is just another showing of revell's poor quality control from the factory.
  7. Love that color on it! Great job!
  8. Love it! The interior pattern works too! Nerf barfs wouldn't be a bad thing.
  9. And it sucks, they'll drop $60 on a stupid video game. This hobby just isn't going to work with this new generation.
  10. Tamiyas Jeep Wrangler and Grand Cherokee were amazing kits. Very well detailed. Their 90s Mustangs were great also. I wish they still did more US subjects. But when Revell tried to make the Impreza, the rear c pillar was way fubar. So yes, I would choose a foreign company over Revell any day because I don't have to worry about the body looking all wonky.
  11. I'm also working on this Jeep. ALmost done too:) Here are some links I've complied for reference: http://www.fourwheeler.com/project-vehicles/154-1103-atypical-rod-1945-jeep-cj2a/ and the 1:1 build at the bottom in the gallery section: http://randyellisdesign.com/ Good luck!
  12. I'm not an old timer, neither am I a new to the hobby builder. I'm only 29, but have been building since I was about 9. Snap kits or full detailed kits really didn't make a difference to me when I was younger-still goes the same. What draws me to a kit, is the subject matter and how accurate it should be. I've never seen any one younger-or even close to my age in a hobby store, or showing any interest in the models section of any store. The older corporate guys will never understand kids. I wish I could see revell in a positive light, I really do. But things seemed to have gone down hill since after the Binney and Smith ownership.
  13. It really sounds like a dressed up final resort for them. As they know, if they can't attract new builders in the next few years, they will lose as a business, entirely. The whole article sound like a negative to us, who have been around here long enough to see their previous ups and down.
  14. http://www.briefingwire.com/pr/revell-reveals-essential-model-kits-at-the-american-international-toy-fair-in-new-york If only! lol!
  15. http://www.round2models.com/images/models/pol925/preview.jpg When I click on the link, it just reverts to the original kit, but the tiny pic shows the second movie's car, with the hovering wheels. So, would Round2 have modified the Polar Lights original kit to include the articulated chassis? Or reissue the Aoshima kit again? The reissued PL body was attempted to be corrected, adding a "DMC" logo to the grille, but failed to incorporate the "DeLorean" in the rear bumper.
  16. Usually completely slick tires aren't DOT road legal. In most states(?) So there are some mostly slick, rears with bare minimum tread.
  17. And I thought this was an open forum where people can freely express their views, especially in this section labelled as kit reviews. If revell only wants to see positive things said about their failed efforts, that's what their paid advertising in the magazine is for. If you don't like hearing the truth about some kits flaws, maybe it is pointless to you then and should continue to turn a blind eye. I have seen in person the original release of the LX. The kit is actually very nice, accept for that one huge glaring error. I still hope this drag version will have great parts.
  18. Me either. I thought they would have fixed it because they actually cared about their paying customers and quality of their products. They clearly still do not. But I could still hope.
  19. That roof almost looks slightly taller. Lets hope they did fix it.
  20. That looks great! Funny how you found a vid of this car at my local drag strip lol.
