I like the Chili Peppers....... A lot of their influence came from George Clinton, whom they used to hang out with as a young band. Their "Californication" album is probably my favorite...........

The Cardigans have a sound that none of the other groups I listen to do.........

thanks, Fellas! I looked at the mats at that site, something like that would work perfect...... !

Thanks, Joe! They look kind of expensive, but maybe worth it. I see they make Lazy Susans for puzzles, too..... That's cool....!

Hey, Guys.... I got this puzzle as a Gift and would like to build it. Is there a way to keep it safe while I am working on it? I have maintenance and service people come in often, I don't want my pieces growing legs. Maybe some sort of binder or folder to store it in? Something I can zip closed.........? How do you keep your pieces together? It's an 18"x24" puzzle.... Thanks for any advice.......

My sister and her husband just became foster parents. Two kids, 5 & 6 I think........ This Christmas was probably the best one that they have ever had. There's a lot of things wrong in the World, but little Good things do happen, At least they did this year for those two kids...............

I hope everyone has a Merry Holiday season................

Wider & Longer Body... "49 Merc
JollySipper replied to CountryJoe's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
If you were to section the body, that would make it "wider", proportion wise............. -
Some nights are large, some nights are lazy, But ain't nobody tryin' to slip away, It'll make you loose, it'll make you crazy, Know what I mean? What'ya say, what'ya say...........

That song hasn't had any airplay in a while, Didn't surprise me noone guessed it..... One reason I love Napster so much, they have literally millions of songs on demand, and sometimes a song will creep in from my subconscious that I haven't heard in ages. Do a quick search, and there it is!

This one is "Eclectic Electric" by Primus...... On the Anti-Pop album they did things a bit differently. Les Claypool had the crazy (brilliant?) idea of having some big names at the time do some guest production and playing. On this song, James Hetfield of Metallica produced it and did a bit of a cameo spot in the song.........

This one is "Save Tonight" by Eagle Eye Cherry........ Good song, you guys should check it out!

There's a log on the fire, and it burns like me for you, Tomorrow comes with one desire, to take me away, it's true..........

Thanks, Jim! Started on filling seams on the rider...... I used white glue to fill the joints at his shoulders, so I wouldn't fill in the details on his jacket....... Also still working on smoothing the horse...... The tube is the glue I'm using to join parts with. It's Beacon's 527 Multi-use glue...... It's a good bond, haven't had anything come loose even with all the sanding....

Is finishing your goal?
JollySipper replied to Psychographic's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Eventually, but I'm finding here lately that the more work I put into something, the more I enjoy the final product..... so I try not to rush anything....... David, I'll bet that because you do so much painting that you Have to do, that it's sapping your desire to do it for a hobby! They say "The good painter's house always needs painting".......... -
Bring me back again, I'd really rather not be out here on my own, Someone reel me in, I'm drifting ever farther from my home........ ...................... I had a pretty cool musical experience today! I was listening to a song called "Rabiato" by a group named Osibisa, a group I was turned on to by another thread here. One part of the song is a long tribal rhythm piece, and I got completely lost in it..... It was like the song (or at least that part) had no beginning or end! Like it had always been, and would never end.... I was completely engulfed by it. Never experienced anything like that before...............

This one was Pendulous Thread by Incubus....... I bet you could stump us with some obscure Dead lyrics........

In the 8th grade we were required to learn how to compose a proper paper with an opening paragraph, three body, and a conclusion..... I was lurking around on another forum and this college kid was doing that same thing, something he should have learned in middle school....... Maybe it's because of what is required learning nowadays?

Just getting started on this. This is my first large scale figure..... I must have picked the poorest fitting kit for my first one! I love the subject, tho, one of my favorite stories.......... This is the tree, assembled, then primed, puttied, primed again...... then I did a lot of washing and a little dry brushing...........

On a burning bridge your options are minimal at best, Depending on where you're standing and how much breath is in your chest, If it came down to it, would you hie-tail home and hide, Or catch on fire and enjoy the ride?

That's cool! It's the era of the Dead that I'm most familiar with, Their "In The Dark" album.........
