Which Model Gave You a Whoopin'?
JollySipper replied to 10thumbs's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I want to build a countach, pretty much finished one but the engine bay crumpled when it was time to put the frame to the body. I would love to have a decent model of one. Do you think it would take much work to put a Monogram engine into an Aoshima kit? Here's the Monogram engine, it's 1/24...... -
This may be a silly question, can you do a System Restore back to a point to where your FireFox was working?

Dan, you have a PM.............

It was called "Posting Your Build on Another Guys Thread"....... It's on page 6 now in General....... I would bump it for you but it's locked................

Here's on of my favorite Dali paintings, it's called Raphaelesque Head Exploding...... Another Dali bit of trivia.... He used to baptise his paintings in a lake in Spain where he lived...........

best glue to use on windows
JollySipper replied to lugkcorky's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I like Elmers school glue, it doesn't make the strongest bond, but if you handle the model easily it works fine. The less glue you use, the better it holds........ I use it to attach mirrors and door handles on finished paint. If you make a goof with it, it cleans up with soapy water......... -
Wow, That's a nice color! and I like the "suede" look it has not cleared.... If you're building it as a pro-touring car, it would look good with black wheels and some black trim. Just an idea, but it's your build, friend...... do as you'd like!

What do you listen to while you build???
JollySipper replied to slusher's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I like to build in the quiet like a lot of you guys.......... It's when I'm waiting for paint or glue to dry that I turn on my music. -
It's a trick I learned on here......... It does a light sanding of the plastic, even in scripts and grooves where sand paper can't get to. Gives the surface a little "bite" for the primer. After Comet, I use dish soap and let everything air dry......

Couple of MoPar wheel questions.....
JollySipper replied to JollySipper's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks again for the help, guys......! Snake, you're right about being able to put whatever wheels I would like to, I just want to do what the factory may have done.... In my hunting for reference pics, I've seen all types of wheels on these cars, even late '70s Police wheels! This looks the best to me, though...... -
Couple of MoPar wheel questions.....

Thanks fellas.....! I was going to put the 500s on a '63 Plymouth with red lines, but wasn't sure they were available then........... -
Got my model building mojo back!

The Mefistofele box says over 500 parts....! Here's to hoping the chain links don't have mold lines....... -
Wanted to show you guys the ride height that this one has with the wheels I chose........ I've been getting the body ready for primer, scribed for foil, now it just needs a scrub with Comet, and I can start priming......... Also the chassis is done....! Thanks for checking in, and feel free to comment..........

Mythbuster--Red "Bleed"
JollySipper replied to Snake45's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Guys, DupliColor makes an Engine enamel Primer that has ceramic in it. I use it all the time, it goes on thin, sands smooth, and stands up to the lacquer paints. I bet with the ceramic in it, it would make for a good barrier over colored plastics..... what do you guys think? -
Health Update: Cautiously Optimistic
JollySipper replied to Harry P.'s topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
You didn't crack a joke? You really MUST be miserable...... I'm sorry... My Dad tore the rotator cuff in his left shoulder catching a guy that had fallen off a ladder. In the year of MRIs and waiting for a proper surgeon, he also developed a bone spur in the injured shoulder. After surgery and 6 months of physical therapy though, He's back to normal......... Erry Thang Gonna Be Alright............!! -

You're in a medicinal-legal state, Harry........ Dump those pills! It's good for pain, your nerves, relaxation, will keep your blood pressure down, and help with your appetite (the munchies!) -
