  1. I have this idea to take the engine and suspension from the "Uptown" Charger and put it under an AMT '71 Charger. Does the suspension in the Uptown kit sit high to clear the large tires in that kit? Also, would the Lindberg Charger be a better donor even though it's 1:24? This will be my first major kit bash, so any and all help is greatly appreciated!
  2. If you guys like acoustic guitar shredding, check out Buckethead's album "Acoustic Shards"..........
  3. I'm lucky enough to live about a mile from a small airport. Mostly Cessna-type planes, but sometimes I get to see some military aircraft. Not too long ago, I saw an Osprey fly over the complex. Had his rotors up like he was circling to land...... Awesome plane.
  4. There has been a few really GOOD bands with a "revolving door" of members. Steely Dan comes to mind. It was based around Becker and Fagen, and their line-up changed with every album. Same with the Black Crowes.........

    enjoy

Those are nice! Oh, and you should put your name somewhere in your post, just a heads-up......
  6. "Axl Rose's Flying Circus" Thats a good one, Chuck! I can almost hear John Cleese now.... "This band is no more! It has ceased to be!"
  7. I've always liked this one! It has a 421 Super Duty engine in the front and a transaxle type thing in the back..... Done for weight distribution I would guess.
  8. I do have to say in their defence that Phish never intended to take the place of the Grateful Dead. The Dead were more geared towards folk and Phish are more of a jazz improv sound. The only thing they have in common is the extension of their jams...... Oh, and I'm sorry if my avatar offends anyone with different musical taste than me.....
  9. Nah, it's Primus that sucks.........
  10. 60's customs are probably my favorite genre of build, both in models and real cars. Pie sections and chop tops are right up my alley (although I can't do them.... yet). But sometimes I wonder what kit makers think of people doing such modifications to a model that they spent a year and umpteen thousand dollars developing, getting proportions right and such....... Maybe they think they want to provide the best raw materials for free artistic expression?Thats what I like to think, anyway.....
  11. That one is easy...... Jolly Sipper! Happy just sipping on life instead of gulping it down with an air of debauchery.......
  12. I decided to change my avatar! I figured after over 2 years that Flapjack could use a break. The one I'm using now represents the greatest 'extended jam' band ever to fill a stadium. I won't bother you with a lot of details about the group, but there is one thing they do at concerts that I find pretty cool. They take a huge beach ball and toss it into the audience. Every time someone pops the ball into the air, they play a note, and as the ball is being bounced around they have improvised a song with the help of the audience. they call it the Big Ball Jam..... pretty cool, I think.........
  13. It was pretty cool, Harry..... it introduced me to a lot of machinery I never would have known about otherwise! The front of each page was a general description of whatever, and the back was specs and such of the vehicle.....
  14. When I was a kid, around 8 or 10, I had a subscription to something called "Wheels and Wings". When you got a sub, they sent you a 3 ring binder and every month would send you pages for the binder. Each page featured a different car, plane, bike, or piece of armor equipment. The range of subjects was widely varied, they covered anything that had an engine....... Anyone else remember these? or is it something else odd and obscure that only I remember?
  15. Nobody really wants to hear such shyt as that! I stopped watching the idiot box a long time ago because it's all bad news. I come here to "get away". I build to "get away". All you did with this post is make them more "famous" than they already are.......
  16. Hey friend.... It may also help if you scribe the edge of the trim so the blade will have a nice path to follow. I use a set of tweezers of all things to scribe with as they come to a sharp point and make a nice V-shaped cut.... Just be sure to do your scribing before primer and paint...
  17. Hey, friend..... If you color over the red decals with blue, I would think it would make them purple. You may could get away with coloring some white wall decals after they were applied to the tire. AMT makes blue streak parts packs, but I think they are only available as slicks.... Hope to have helped!
  18. Thanks for the info.... Less mass for the engine to have to turn, meaning higher revs.....
  19. Hey, Jason, man....... What's the advantage to gun drilled axles? Is it to save weight?
  20. Great info! Thanks.... I browsed around a bit and found that Modelhaus carries the correct interior for a '66, but it's made to fit the MPC kit. Does anyone know if the Modelhaus tub will fit the Revell body and chassis?
  21. A buddy of mine wants me to build a model of a car he used to own, a '66 Charger. What would I have to change about the Revell '67? He will be ordering the correct wheel covers from Modelhaus, and I plan to try and use the engine from AMT's '71 Charger....... Thanks for any and all help!
  22. Was Deborah Harry still a Bunny around this time?
  23. Ernie! Solid name... I hope for years of joy with your new buddy!
  24. I believe they are in the northern VA, DC area, Jim. I'm in southeast NC...... It's almost like adopting a child, though, dealing with these folks! They want you to do a "meet & greet" with the dog at it's current home, then they bring the dog to your house to "evaluate" how you live and how the dog would be living. Then there is the red tape, adoption forms and such...... I don't mind an adoption fee, and the people are doing a good thing for the bullies (check out Smedley's before and after pics)... I guess if you end up with a new best friend, it might be worth the hassle, huh?
  25. http://www.brbtc.com/Home.html Here's one place I've been keeping an eye on. They foster Bull Terriers until they can find good homes for them. If you'd like, check out their Adopt-a-bull page. They just got a boy in named Pepper.....
