I am, just not the one from the Revell kit....... I'll be using the one in the mock-up, it's from a Testors kit..

Thanks for the interest in my project, guys! A Revell '09 Challenger will be donating some parts, but the engine in that kit is not sized well for what I wanted to do.......

Dad's '72 Road Runner that he had when I was 16. He pretty much let me drive it when I wanted to. It was a 340/slapstick car and was the fastest thing I had ever driven at the time........ '85 Mazda GLC, ugly little hatch back car but the most dependable car I have ever owned, it had 250,000 miles on it before I retired it.......

Here it is with the engine mocked in place! I didn't want to use this engine because it's 1/24, but it ended up fitting pretty good. It has holes in the intake for a heat shield, which I will need to fill. Engine is from the Testors Charger Daytona.......

I kinda like Ringo, not for his drumming, but because he did some voice-over work for a cartoon that I'm a fan of..... He was the alien duck brothers on the Courage The Cowardly Dog show!

Got some things detailed while I'm waiting for my engine donor to arrive! Also got the rear track where it should be, that took filing down the hubs that glue to the inside of the rim. I think it will look pretty nasty, especially with the width of the rear tires!

You like some good music, Harry! I like the Beatles a lot, but their later stuff, after they quit with the "pop" songs and started delving deeper into more complex stuff. "A Day in the Life" is probably my favorite by them..... Some more lyrics! Sounds like a cool plan, friend! I plan on using a Revell '09 Challenger for an engine donor, since it's 1/25 like the '71..... I'm detailing some small stuff right now, will have more pics as the build progresses!!

The newer TCSM movie is a little more disturbing than the original one, but it's hard to top the scene where he puts that dude on the meat-hook! You guys remember in the movie FireStarter, the scene where Drew's character blows up the police cars? The old house where that was filmed is between here and Wilmington, and supposedly belonged to some relatives of my Dad........

Those interior combos sound pretty good, Ken.... I think I've decided on a brown dash, tan seats and panels, and some cream flocking for the floors..... I found out today that the 71 GTX has bucket seats with the same pleat pattern as the rear seat of the Charger, so I will be using those!

I doubt any of you older music lovers will know this one! All you breathe and wear or see and hear on TV is a product Begging for your fat and dirty dollar..........

Thanks for showing an interest, fellas! As for stripes, the kit only comes with black stripes so it would have to be those, if I do decide on using them..... What do you guys think about interior colors?

Thanks, fellas!! The color is Duplicolor Cordova Brown, 2 coats of color, then wet sanded, then 2 coats of clear.......

Thought I would give you guys a quick look at my current project. The mock-up pic is before color sanding and clear, the pic on the cup is how the clear looks. I figured while I wait for the engine donor kit for this project, I could go ahead and get some color on so it could cure for a while.... Comments are always welcome!

A friend of mine used to own a first generation Charger and wanted a model to represent it, so I built this for him. I used the engine from the '71 Charger. Primer, paint, and clear are all Duplicolor, the color is called Chrome Yellow....... Thanks for checking it out, guys, and all comments are welcome!

Since this thread began, I've added a couple songs to a playlist I have on Rdio.com. The list is called "5 minutes or more..." I added a Gov't Mule song, and "Inside Looking Out" by Grand Funk, a song I had never heard until recently! Thanks to you guys, I have some new tunes to listen to......!

Does anyone have any words of advice for me on this build? I have the '71 Charger kit already, but I'm still not sure what would be the best donor kit for the engine and suspension. A full-on pro-touring car is what I'm going for. This build may be a bit above my skill level, but that's how we learn, right? Thanks for any and all help!
