I don't toss stuff nearly as much as I should as well! The eyeglass lenses got me thinking I do the same thing! Multiple old scripts filling a drawer! My rationale is that good money was spent and seems a waste to throw away! Even though they're unusable. Same with old computers and electronics, clothes, magazines....you get the picture. D.mn, I need to clean out my garage and basement!LOL!

X-Acto with an LED Light built in - Hobby Lobby
JohnU replied to Impalow's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Gotta get one of these to help with BMFing like everyone else has mentioned. Just bought a new Dewalt drill with a built in light and love it! This idea for the knife is just as "brilliant"!? -
The type I'm familiar with is magicians flash paper used for on stage pyro effects.

Got my MCM issue 201 and got excited when I saw the Down n Dirty article dirt bikes with the van. Very cool little bikes but I need to know how to get that side door on the van to slide open and closed. Got one in my stash I'm holding off on building till I can get this figured out. Any ideas? Thanks, figured if anyone would know it would have to be here!

Frankly, I'm all for the back up cameras on vehicles! Fantastic safety feature! Have one on my pickup and it eliminates the huge blind spot from the top of the tailgate, bumper to the ground! Can't count the number of near misses it helps to avoid! Yeah, I still use all my mirrors! This feature augments there use. Why do you think they use them on school buses?

They'l dry up on your radiator all right, more likely melt into a pile of plastic goo!

Anything Good at Harbor Freight?

http://i1157.photobucket.com/albums/p595/photoguy70/IMAG0682_zps0jkl5skr.jpg Don't waste your money on those mini drills! The really small ones don't have points on them and don't cut worth a carp! Get the tiny drills from micro mart instead! Cost a little more but work!? -
I tried purple power for the first time
JohnU replied to junkyardjeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Same question. Can Purple Power be used in this ultrasonic cleaner? -
Sam's Club in my area carries a 4 ft LED shop light that out shines fluorescent tubes at $35 a unit! I'm replacing the lighting in my whole workshop!

UUUHHHH?!? HHHMMMM???
JohnU replied to Petetrucker07's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Kinda wonder what the reaction would be here if these cars were made out of plastic from someone's spare parts box and sitting on a table. Does't seem all that different from some of the stuff I've seen in the contest magazines except there made from real car scrap parts! Just sayin'!? -
Light bulb for paint drying?
JohnU replied to Bullitt's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I built a down draft paint booth that uses the same filter as my furnace 1 x 16 x 25 inches. The working area above is about 20 - 25 inches and the front is slightly slanted so I can lay a piece of plexiglass over the front without it falling off. I mounted a ceramic light fixture to a small piece of wood that can easily be removed from my booth when I'm painting. To dry paint I use a 100 watt lightbulb. The fixture is mounted as high as I can get it in the booth on the back wall so it's not too close to my parts. Using an outdoor liquid thermometer inside the booth with the light and closed with the plexiglass, the temperature only gets to 97 degrees. To be sure, I tested the heated space with a junker body and it survived no melting after sitting over night. May have got lucky because it works great for drying enamal piant in about 2 to 3 days! But then, I use Donn Yosts paint method too!? Lately it been getting more difficult to get 100 watt bulbs may try 75's instead -
Heads up, kits at Goodwill
JohnU replied to JohnU's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Wait.....Goodwill sells stuff on eBay? I thought it was to benifit the community! -
Just a heads up to anyone near the Northfield Village Ohio Goodwill outlet store. I dropped off a few boxes of car kits totaling about 125 kits. Needed to clear the garage before the wife threw them out! LOL! It's ok, still have a huge stash! They range from 1930's classics to recent drag rails. Not sure when they will set them out for sale, since I donated them Saturday. Happy hunting!

I could be wrong but it looks like you would have to roll the windows down to be able to open the doors!

Yea, I get these too. I don't visit adult sites so why these other ones show up seems odd! The ad banner has a feedback option that allows you to report the ad as repetitive, inappropriate, or irrelevant. Yet no matter if I tag it inappropriate it will still pop up the same ad in a different thread on this forum. Very annoying! Gonna try the ad blocker like Ace suggested and have my wife model some Victoria Secret for me while I'm at it.... Andy!
-
Thanks. I'm running Firefox on my laptop will try your advice. My iPhone doesn't get this junk.
-
I get that these ad banners generate revenue and aren't going anywhere anytime soon, but how do I keep these ads for Asian, Middle eastern or what ever girls dating sites from popping up?! I mark them as "inappropriate" yet they still show up! WTF! I don't get these ads anywhere else!

Kinda like the watermelon car! Mmmmmm watermelon!!!

The front grill work on the chrome tree, are the bars open? -
It doesn't make any sense
JohnU replied to forthlin's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Accually, I was joking! At least they're serving a purpose as advertising rather than being crushed as cash for clunkers! Even if I could afford and had the room to "save" these cars, I wouldn't have time or live long enough to restore them anyway! Kinda like the model stash I have!
