  1. That looks just superb Jonathan! That's definitely on my 'to buy' list for this year. I still have the Citroen HY Van to get on with.
  2. Superb! I love everything about the LB Performance look!
  3. Yes Kai, I buy all matter of 'Evergreen' made plasticard/plastic sheet, round stock rod, square, tubes all of these in different sizes from Fred Aldous in Manchester. Just Google search on that name. Good to see you back and enjoy yourself!
  4. Thanks Dann, yes the original shots on the deck outside my cabin workshop weren't really a finished scene so I did these yesterday.
  5. Purely for my education, staging a scene relating to a build has been a problem for me. I had a quick search on Google for beach scenes, came up with two and printed them off. I then found a piece of sandpaper I use for woodwork and took two pics on the mantlepiece over the fireplace..... I then went into the garage to play with the sand and came up with............ Then added Ed to the scenes................................... Now I think I've got a rough idea of what to do next time!
  6. Thanks guys, all of a sudden I like quirky, loopy cars!
  7. Cheers Derick.
  8. Yes I learn't that lesson, 'strip the chrome before painting' I use (in the UK) a liquid oven cleaner. It doesn't damage the plastic, but use carefully, and well rinse the parts afterwards. I did paint some chrome parts on the Manx's I built (7), I used acrylic clear colours, red, orange (rear light lens paints) and blue. It gives a beautiful coloured shine.
  9. Thanks Chris.
  10. Thanks guys. Yes I wish I had seen these crazy kits sooner.
  11. Well V8 Trucker, my photography was hit n miss. So I went into, Currys/PC World ( Electricals,Electronics, Camera gear, Computers, very large store) recently and bought two things. The first was an update to an old bit of kit, a small table standing tripod. The second, something our eldest son keeps telling me to buy, a monopod, a single leg height adjustable camera stand, both are by Manfrotto. I've also started to use the telescopic button on my cheapy digital camera. So most of the pictures here are taken about three feet away, and are all in focus! We learn something new every day, well I do anyway!
  12. Well thanks guys, I've only made a couple of these, what I would call unusual kits, you know cartoon type vehicles. But all of a sudden I like them and perhaps It's good to build something that's loopy!
  13. Trying a black background, driver wears shades..... Chrome tape comes in handy
  14. Built this over the last few days box stock, surfboard came with the kit has a propeller! Didn't use one decal, suffering withdrawal symptoms. Headers in hi viz pink after the VHT (Very High Temperature) paint we used in the 70's and 80's on our beetles and kit cars we were building, stops rust but pipes have to be hot for it to stick!
  15. Thanks George, yes it took me a time to find this one!
  16. Thanks Tommy & Scott.
  17. Thanks again guys, I'm very pleased you like it!
  18. Thanks John and Bruce, I'm very glad you like it!
  19. Thanks very much Johann.
  20. Thanks Ed but I can't take any credit for the Big Daddy Roth figure as it comes ready painted in the kit. All I did was add the front and back decals!
  21. Here are all the pieces, and so ready for the dunes..................... And here in the dunes looking for customers..................... He also has one of his own Rat Fink decals on the front of his shirt.
  22. Cheers Stephen, and here's the Tiki Hut and his builder the famous Ed Roth! The sufboard is from the kit with a Firebird Designs decal on the board. So I updated his T shirt by adding a Monster logo on the back. Hold on is there still someone asleep in there?
  23. Thanks Jim and Wayne!
  24. Thanks Ray the kit wheels/tryes combo seemed a bit small, but in real life they were small. I think the bigger tyres will cope with the dunes and waves better.
  25. Thanks guys, it's good to get some positive feedback!
