This kit I understand is a re-issue by Lindberg in 1/20th scale. I've changed a few things along the way, mainly removing the wood panels alongside and back of the removable top, and adding windows and travel destination decals. I've also changed the front wheels as the tyres are a different style to the rears, with a very wide squared off tread, for rear wheels and tyres from the Meyers Manx kit. These wheels/tyres are just a shade smaller in diameter but much narrower. And in my normal way, changed the paint colour to 'Rover Metalic Green' and added a number of home-brewed decals. The one area of change was having to add strips of plastic to the bottom of the body as when test fitted to the completed chassis, the height of the fan housing and dynamo stopped the body/chassis coming together level. And wired the engine.

Thanks guys. Yes it's a bundle of fun on our 'B' classified country roads that are just wide enough for two cars! And also on the race track where you have a one make series. Imagine 30 or 40 of these on the startline!

I've been around the top today with scissors to make it look more factory fitted rather than just 'thrown over' as before.

Thanks Dann, I stripped all the chrome, to ensure that the paint stayed on! I fully built the chassis with complete front axle and all the engine /gearbox and suspension and sprayed it in situ. Then attached the screen surround and rear seat, haedlight and rear light bases and sprayed that in one piece and then glued the chassis to the body!

Due to advice regarding the hood, I have made a new 'Draped Over' Hood taking info from 'How To's' and YouTube and added some decals.

Yes Bob, I bet it looked unusual at the time, but over here in the UK at present, people are crying out to have their sportscars matt vinyl wrapped, mainly in black,dark brown & dark grey!

Thanks Keith. Yes Richard, I all of a sudden thought of using this 'Nato Green' rattle can. I was initially going to convert this to a six-wheeler, but couldn't decide on the chassis design. I can still do that in the future though. The tarp is off and due a re-hash after find a 'how to' on another forum!

Thanks Mike, I've yet to improve on the 'Canvas Hood'. I have a few more of the unused tops to try other methods!

This one has a bit of a military look, but I haven't got a white star decal to go on the bonnet(hood). I've also wrapped the top in a wet spectacle cleaning cloth and waited for it to dry! Also painted matt finish. It doesn't fit perfectly but it's OK!..................................

Thanks guys. The cab paint finish is home printed decals. I've no idea what sizes they are, but it doesn't look too bad.

This is the kit, with trailer all that is needed is two wheels and tyres............. A liitle bit of work is needed to put it together, but otherwise it is a good quality resin kit. My basic dio..............

Thanks Marc, the paints were large size rattle cans with high viz matt colours on one side and military colours on the other, sprayed on directly one after the other, not allowing either to dry! The decals are from the kit.

I've been looking for a jet ski to go with this for some time and I've found one at Clearly Scale from Calgary Canada. I'ts a good quality resin cast kit with little to do before assembly and in my way I've given it a coloured camo finish!.

Thanks Douglas. Scott, our Seaplane trip was called 'Misty Fjords' by Taquan Seaplanes at Ketchikan, which is about an hour. Amazing scenery of one of the remotest area's on earth! After about half an hour our pilot suggested we 'take a break'! We flew up to a lake totally surrounded by mountains and landed on it! The pilot then asked us to get out onto the pilot's side float and take photo's! So there's 6 of us (including the pilot) on the float! I took a step/shuffle back to take a photo of the others, holding onto a small luggage door opening in the fuselage to the rear of the float and wearing canvas shoes ( wring it out later!) noticed that my right foot, furthest back was starting to get wet! It's a good job that they have grip tape at different intervals along the top of the float! The first pic is of 'the others' and the second pic is my wife and I with the tailplane behind us...... A flight never to be missed!

Thanks guys, much obliged! Well Scott, talking about good summer. We have recently returned (last Thursday) from Canada & Alaska tour. Starting at the Calgary Stampede, 2 days, Staying with our eldest son and daughter-in-law south of Calgary for a few days, onto the Rocky Mountaineer to Vancouver and onto a cruise to Alaska, stopping at Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan, with various stops and excursions, narrow guage railway, seaplane flight etc. and then unfortunately back home! What a beautiful country you have.
