  1. Just finished on the WIP thread..............
  2. The last four pics to finish this one off....................
  3. Thanks Marc. Yes you've got it, an old truck needing a new PU bed, to bring it back into service.
  4. Yes Mike your right on both counts, but I build as I see, I'm not bothered about scales or ages of vehicles. If real I would buy one that's why I model to see what I would like to build if it was real. Although as a 1:1 I can't buy one here in the UK. Artwork on cab and chrome interior to pickup bed and some sort of net to stop things falling out................... The tape on the screen, when sprayed with dullcoate will give the impression of one wiper working. My own jury is out on the paint/artwork on the cab, it might well change on Monday! I've got Practice 3 and Qualifying for the F1 Spanish GP tomorrow and the race on Sunday to see first before I venture out into my cabin again.
  5. Thanks guys, so three more pics.......... Firstly the wheels are on..................... Secondly the dually bed is built, using also filler panels over the wheel arches.. and thirdly a test fit of the bed on the chassis...........
  6. Bought for around £1 from my favourite ebay UK, this was an already started and abandoned build. As it seemed to be hand painted with a few Mickey Mouse decals I got the oven cleaner to it! It came without wheels/ytres/engine and a few other bits. So as I had it handy I'm rebuiding it as a duallie, after finding 6 tyres from my bins. After cleaning up! I rebuilt the cab I made inner wings for the duallies................. I test fitted the rear deck......... And have plastic bottle tops to make wider inner tubs if I need to................
  7. I finished building the SG38 today. The difference between this and the GR9 is the main wing comes in two halves and the tailplane is squared off. I hope to lay up both sets of decals (what there are) in the next few days.
  8. Thanks Ace-Garageguy, for your comments and info. The S6B is a favourite of mine too and as far as Porco goes I have it with English voice over saved on my Sky box (satellite TV recorder) and watch it on a regular basis! I like as your picture shows, where he lives on a beach in the sun, although he needs to start up the plane and fly out of his hideout to shop! I think the woman on the front of the magazine he's snoozing under is his love! She has a restuarant and bar where all of the sky pirates meet up, on it's own island nearby! Oh Tony is Macchi is no more, the SMER kit is such a poor kit that after working on it for 5 days (fit problems/poor instructions/soft plastic/didn't like the paint) it was still nowhere right so I put it in the recycling bin that went yesterday! In fact I'm selling all of my aircraft kits, 20+ due to poor quality and poor instructions.
  9. Thanks for that Bill, interesting to see the flag on the tailfin! As it seems to have an all enveloping body it may well be a later model.
  10. Yes mine as with the Citroen HY van is very soft.
  11. As far as I can ascertain they were Lufwaffe created gliders for training pilots so would normally have had Swastikas shown but even the red backed logo's are not on the decal sheet.
  12. Thanks Ace-Garageguy. Yes although the red and black logo was shown on the box they are not part of the decal sheet.
  13. Not the rigging as I said earlier I'm not experienced with aircraft rigging. The decals may go on today.
  14. Looking good Brizio. When I built a 2CV the suspension was very similar to this one on the Mehari and it worked very well, worth the time taken building it!

    VW 411

That VW model looks fantastic! We have a lot of those here in the UK where they are still very popular, in fact most VW aircooled cars are covered by various car clubs. A friend has a VW squareback, suitably lowered. I'd like to find a kit of a VW Brasilia.
  16. This is the Gr9. Although coloured markings are shown in the plans and on the box, only black lettered markings are provided. I'm not up to speed on the wires between wings and frame as yet. I understand that these were used to train new pilots.
  17. I took a picture of my build of Porco's main proganist plane, a Curtiss...... THe pilot challenged Porco to an aerial duel over a lady.
  18. Superb build well done! My wife bought me this kit in 1988. I just couldn't sort out the upholstery at the time, and now it's detiorated, I'm trying very thin leather. The rest is built, but the tyres are now 'flat', so need work on.
  19. Yes Tony an amazing record that still stands!
  20. Thanks guys. I'm now building a Macchi Castoldi MC 72 also a seaplane! If you Google Porco Rosso, this plane, it will show the other plane I've also built from the same film, the Curtiss R3C-0!
  21. Although I'm an out and out CAR modeller, there are times, like watching a particular Anime or cartoon when I loose all sense and build a plane! In this case the anime is Porco Rosso or Crimson Pig, flying the Savoia S.21 over the Adriatic Sea fighting Sky Pirates! The actual plane was first built in Italy in 1929. The film maker and director is Hayao Miyazaki.
  22. Thanks Carl.
