  1. It looks great. I'm looking forward to more updates.
  2. Those kind of references from the owner and photog make a huge difference. Looking forward to more.
  3. John - how did I miss this build ? Just got caught up on it. You're doing an amazing job.
  4. Great work Scott. Wow. The tinwork and tires are great.
  5. That also looks tricky getting the windshield off with all the rivets holding it in place. Looks like if you pull it from one side to get it started, it could bend rivets on the opposite side. How do you manage that? Push it out from the inside by pushing the center of the glass?
  6. Art, thanks for the IV hookup to cure the Willysitis. Awesome work. I had to download some of your photos.
  7. That vinyl top came out perfect.
  8. Hopefully an update soon. I got distracted by starting a tribute funny car. Thanks for asking Stan. Hope all is well in New Zealand.
  9. Thanks for posting the great shots Marcos. I couldn't make the show this year.
  10. Really good update Rick. I love your work.
  11. Dave - yes those tires are ok. You crack me up. They look great. And the mock up shots - what a phenomenal piece of workmanship. If you take this to NNL East as a WIP I'll kick myself for not going to stare and study it.
  12. I understand the cold weather problem Bill. In the winter I can only do small parts painting. No place/booth for spray can or airbrush. Really looking forward to more of your work.
  13. Love it. Love it.
  14. Way to go Art - you've infected us all with Willysitis. What a great disease. Thanks for sharing.
  15. Looks great Chris. Getting things parallel and perpendicular here and there are a real challenge. I appreciate you showing us the difficulties you've had with this build and how you have remedied them.
  16. I agree, thanks for sharing. A great idea.
  17. Chris- I am seeing some light. And it would come quicker if I wasn't tackling things that I'd never done before. It has been a great learning experience. Dave - Thanks. It does look different with more added. I appreciate all the encouragement. I wish I was going to make it to NNL East next weekend, but it's not going to work out. I hope you and the Mrs. go and have a great time. I know a LOT of people will love your work.
  18. Thanks Bill. I hope to get more done before the official "lawn maintenance" season hits. Real life always seems to creep in.
  19. John- thanks my good friend and teacher. It has been a lot of work since this is my first highly detailed build. Your work is amazing. Gordon - thank you for looking. The paint on the body is Testors Grabber Orange lacquer. The engine has various Metalizer paints on it. The headers are a generic flat black from a Walmart spray can. The fittings have Tamiya clear red and clear blue on them. I hope I answered your question. I also have one more fuel line to add when I get the correct fittings. I had typed this up last Thursday, hit the Post button but my pc decided to throw a fit. I recently saw funny car builds by Mark Killingsworth and Steve Perry in Model Cars mag and need to check out more of their work.
  20. A good beginning Brett. I'm looking forward to more.
  21. Bruce said this was Tim Richard's idea who was Joe Amato's crew chief.
  22. Yes. I got the idea from Bruce Larson's Sentry Olds car that ran in '89. He told me that was how they fed more nitro into the motor back then.
