  1. Super clean, those colors are tops!
  2. Jeez, what a nice build! You can tell you put some work in on that finish. Looks killer..
  3. Sweet ride. Great job on a cool kit!
  4. Ya know, I was thinking the same thing.. Too late now though, let me say I'm THROUGH bodyworking and painting (and re-bodyworking and painting) this piece. I think I've got something almost as cool though... Thanks for all the suggestions guys!
  5. Man, what a boat... Great job on an interesting subject!
  6. It's nice that they got back to you, speaks volumes about them. Good luck!
  7. Try using a medical blade. Available from Squadron or your local pharmacy. I had trouble with the sharpest of x-acto blades, but when I switched to the medical blade, it worked wonders and sliced through with no snags. I've also found that keeping the foil sheet in the fridge helps with the foil curling when you cut it and keeps it fresh and sticky. Might be no truth to that, but give it a shot. Also, I like to spend some time and lightly sand the trim I will be foiling with 3200 grit to get any inperfections out of the surface and promote adhesion. Also, BMF is available all over Ebay for 7-8 dollars shipped. Try to use a merchant that seems to sell a lot of the stuff to increase your chances of getting a fresher sheet.
  8. Looks good. I'd love to find something like that stashed in a barn...
  9. Cool idea. Now you got me looking around the house for potential masks...
  10. Totally a beach bum type ride. Looks rotten, and that's good!
  11. Too nice for a quickie, looks awesome!
  12. Oh yeah! Thanks for going period mild custom, I think the 55-56 Chevs look so nice on pinners and 5 spokes. Good luck with the foil, it'll set that miles deep paint right off.
  13. Thanks guys. 'Im still deciding on the taillight treatment. Problem is I am trying to prevent that "stuck on look". I tried sanding down the backside of the round lenses, which worked o.k. but its difficult getting the contour correct. I've got some red sprue that might make a nice strip-type light though, we will see... Im just glad the difficult bit is behind me..
  14. So, the Revell 32 is the best kit ever made right? I mean, the hits just keep coming and coming. Another stellar example right here...
  15. Great work. Realllyy digging on this one, keep going.
  16. Putting in work, that motor looks like a beast! Looking forward to the second paint...
  17. Great paint Jim! Love those drops.
  18. Agreed, looks awesome in black. Nice job on a tough color!
  19. Color round two.. After stripping the body, re-prepping the bodywork, and laying another coat of Metalizer, the Rivera was ready for paint..again. I vowed to stick to the system, but I always like to add my twist to things. This time the paint is straight up Stop Light Red, but with a very heavy dose of Kustom Shop mini flake. Still a little out of scale, but the bass boat look looks killer on this build! After the base had cured for a week, I decided to use Testor's Wet Look Clear straight from the can. After a few rounds with the fine grit, here are the results. Once again these hastily taken shots don't do this paint justice, but I was psyched with the finish and had to snap a few.. ">http:// ">http:// ">http:// ">http:// ">http:// Got the interior done. Not super detailed, but inline with the rest of the build and gets the vibe across.. ">http:// Sooo, next is my favorite part of the build. Waxing, detailing, BMFing, assembling, then spending a few good hours just staring at the build, having a victory beer or two and trying to come up with a name. Thanks for checking it out!
  20. Very cool, clean build.
  21. Not my era, but I can appreciate any car that sits right. Cool build..
  22. Great work so far, looking forward to the build.
  23. Very neat old builds. I agree the builder had style and taste.
