  1. You knocked that one right out of the park! Love the reverse scallop on the hood.
  2. Thank you very much, Craig. You've been a tremendous help.
  3. Bill, when I saw the Tognotti T at Oakland It was painted an Orchid pearl over a white base, I believe. If you want to know for sure, call Art Himsl in Concord. He'll know the shade. He is an encyclopedia on stuff like that.
  4. I wish I had a dollar for every fly or bug that landed on my paint job as i was spraying it.the worst part is when they land on the part you just sprayed and decide to take the scenic route, flapping their wings all over the panel before they die.You just pick them out with tweezers and color sand and go on with life.
  5. "takes you bake? a freudian slip if I ever heard one. Heh heh!!
  6. I soaked my 25 yr. old 49 ford, Pactra black, in Purple Power and in about 6 hrs later i checked it. the black was gone. I put a 55 Chevy body in it and after the second day, its starting to come off. This was painted with Testors enamel.Oh yeah, use gloves. This stuff will take your skin off.The voice of experience.
  7. I must be getting old, but that looks like someone left a joint on the seat.Great job!!
  8. The Spaulding Ignition was produced from the mid '40s into the early sixties by Tom Spaulding, a well known SoCal hot rodder.there is a pic of a flathead with a Grant spaulding magneto with two coils. www.flatheadv8.freeserve.co.uk/rides7.htm. Hope this helps.
  9. Lacquer thinner works fine. just get a fast drying thinner, the slower drying thinners are way too hot for plastic. R&M PNT62 is a fast dry thinner that will work good on models. I've used it extensively as a pro painter. Acetone will work, but flashes off very quickly,so dryness or overspray might be a problem till you get the hang of it.
  10. I would cut across the top @ 1/8 inch in and down the middle of the sail panels vertically, across to the trunk line to separate from the quarter panel, across the trunk. the reason for cutting down the middle of the sail panel is so you have enough to measure and trim. measure twice cut once.
  11. Go to its-titles.com. you can get a legal title on any vehicle. I've talked to people who have used them and they are legit. good luck
  12. That was the sweetest T-bucket ever built, in my opinion.I started a Tweety Pie 2, a few years ago. Guess I'll have to start working on it again. Really nice job!
  13. Real nice so far. are those the kit wheels?
  14. Steve Hansen has it nailed.want to make it shine? use Meguiar's H7 then Meguiar's paste wax.
  15. I did that ONCE myself, only i was standing over it at the time.I was metallic green for about 4 days. There were witnesses to this and it took me years to live it down.
  16. Craig, do you have a url or email for Rep and Min.? I googled them and came up blank. Also checked every model related link iI could find and still nothing. thanks
  17. If you apply the primer in light coats, you should be ok. I've been using regular automotive lacquer primer for years with out problems. If you do get some crazing, the primer can be sanded to eliminate it.Four or five light coats should keep you out of the woods.
  18. Thank you Mr Geary from the bottom of my heart! I can't wait to get my paws on them. thank you again.
  19. Anyone know of someone who makes scale '56 Packard taillight lenses? I'm building a copy of my first car('56 Chevy, '56 Packard taillight lenses frenched, and 58 Chrysler headlights). Like a moron, I sold the car when I blew the 409 i had recently installed. This was a Bailon custom. Dumb kid!!

  22. As the frogs say. "Mag-nee-feek"!!!
  23. G.M should have told Ralph Nader to go suck eggs!! He killed a great little car and sucked the soul out of the American car industry.
