  1. Yes, the trim is separate and the body is inletted for fitting the trim. I just got one today and am very happy with it.
  2. I would contact the PPG regional rep and ask him.You may have gotten part of a bad batch of hardener. I've used Omni for years and never had the hardener dry out. I have had problems with contaminated reactive reducer(new unopened can) but usually the hardener stays good.one caution. when you are spraying, make sure your hardener is tightly covered as the spray mist will contaminate the open hardener and kick it off.
  3. Anyone have an address or website for Okey? That Pontiac and Plymouth are too cool
  4. Your choice of wheels is dead nuts on. great job!!!
  5. If you have to stretch the roof, the easiest way would be to get another body, cut the top off and splice the two together.Same as the 1/1. much easier than carving up the top and then warping the ###### out of it welding it back together. vdubs are not that rare where a top is going to cost that much. Just my 2 cents
  6. Wow, beautiful job on the engine! Where did you get the dual carb head? If i remember correctly, the t100 was a 500cc single carb bike. Then again, i suffer from C .R .S .
  7. Are you spraying a green basecoat before you apply the pearl? Pearl paints are translucent and need a base coat. Also, green has heavy pigment. make sure your paint is stirred/shaken enough. hope this helps.
  8. Went looking through my old motors manual and heres a list of what early Cad v8's had. Carter-49-51-wcd two barrel 52-57-wcfb.- four barrel 52-58-4gc- four barrel Rochester-52-58-4gc- four barrel '58-?- 2gc I don't know if this helps or not, or if anyone cares, but thought I'd look it up anyway.
  9. I believe that the early G.M. tripower carbs were 2gc Rochesters. that is what i have on my tri power on my '57 Chevy. Manifold on mine is an old Offenhauser.
  10. How about "Godzilla"? Lots of possibilities there.
  11. In '72 I was 25, married and driving a '32 ford five window coupe with a 283 and Powerglide.I was already 3 years into an apprenticeship as a body/paint specialist.
  12. Very cool. The driver looks like Martin Milner from the old "Route 66" series.
  13. Sometimes being accurate is over rated. Great looking car, and your detailing is super nice.
  14. I don't really care for lizard smashers, but your speed shop is awesome. Great work!
  15. That could pass as the real thing. Great job!
  16. Geeze, I hate when my fingers stutter!
  17. I bought one of those '57 Chevy kits cuz i couldn't resist the price. The body isn't proportioned as well as I but I'd like but for the price, will make a cool gasser/ street machine. Also got two Mercs.I can't wait to carve them up!
  18. Another of the worlds mysteries solved!!
  19. The Grafitti Merc had Olds Fiesta spinner caps. The first edition '49 Ford kit had these caps in it. If only AMT or Revell would include these in a kit(wishful thinking).
  20. Now thats the way a chopper should sit!!!. Are you going to Frisco the tank?
  21. I've used toothpaste for years to rub out enamel paints, it works great. I use a soft cloth and rub by hand.
  22. Corvair steering boxes are unique to Corvairs, early Pontiac tempest('61&'62) and possibly Olds f85, and Buick skylarks of the same years. the Camaro and Chevelle boxes are radically different.Vega steering boxes are another different animal altogether.
  23. If all else fails, use 3m adhesive remover, found at auto body supply stores
  24. I bought a bottle of zap-a-gap for the first time the other day. After using it I was left with the problem of cleaning the applicator tip.I didn't want to blow it out, risking getting it stuck to my lip, so i immersed it in lacquer thinner and swished it around for a few seconds. The lacquer thinner gelled it into a rubbery mass that came right out with a toothpick pushed through the opening.Hope this helps someone.
  25. The firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2, according to my 50 year old motors manual and the intake manifold on my '57 Chevy
