Thanks guys. I've been filing away at it this morning. Just put another coat of primer on it, so I can see what needs putty and more attention. I'll thow up a couple of pics when the primer dries. I noticed that my pics are in the wrong order, not sure how that happened . But the second pic and the last pic should be swapped, I guess thats kinda obvious though. Anyway thanks again. Jeff

So this is my first time trying a chop. I got back into the hobby about a year ago and never would have tried this if it wasn't for some of the great builders on this site. Thanks for the insperation everyone. Ok enough babble. this is what I started with. And after a couple of hours of cutting and a quick coat of primer this is what I ended up with. I need to sand it get some putty on it and then decide what to do with it next. And any pointers mistakes or opinions, good and bad, are welcome. Thanks for looking Jeff

In 1:1 you would need at least one bar coming off the top of the diff. to keep the axle housing from rotating backwards. And you would also need a panard bar to keep the axle centered under the car. There are a couple of different ways you could set it up parralel four link with panard bar or a triagulated four link would be another option and wouldn't need the panard bar. Hope this helps and it looking good so far. Jeff

http://s1184.photobucket.com/albums/z321/sstacey47/ Here's Sean's photobucket. He has some great products and is a good guy to deal with. He has more items than what is on his photobucket but I'm not sure how much but I do know he makes cowl style hood scoops too. I picked up one of his roll back kits which is awsome. And I have been dealing with him to have some stuff cast of mine. Def. one of the good casters.

When buying a new car.....
IHSS replied to uncle potts's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I bought a 2000 Camaro SS brand new. I ordered it just the way I wanted it. Had it for 10 years with just under 60k and sold it when the family started. I later found out it was the only one produced with the option arrangment I had. It was the only hard top cloth interior SS made with every performance option available. Would it have been collectible? I'd like to think that it will be. I miss that car every day I wish I still had it but thats life. Fasted time I had was a 12.97 @ 108.9 with just a set of headers and a free flowing air intake. -
Grand Prix the Killer Years
IHSS replied to 935k3's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I cought that to simply mind blow that era of racing. You really had to have a some you know whats to be a driver back then. There's another show that just aired a few months back on velocity. I can't remember the name but it was about, I think the 59 Lemons wreck. It was just as fascinating as the Grand Prix one. A must see if you liked the Grand Prix -
any interest in a 70 t/a / formula hood
IHSS replied to mopar01lee's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
That looks really good. Question for you I made one too just recently and made it almost idetical to yours. Just before I painted it I looked up some reference pics and found on the 71's that the scoops fade into the hood instead of the step at the rear like yours is. and how I did mine at first because that was what I remembered them being. What did you use for reference? Heres what I came up with after looking at pics online.Sorry for the lousy cell pics its been a rough week. -
Question for Camaro experts.
IHSS replied to sak's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Not that it matters here but the DZ code was only for the 69 302. 67 the 302 code was MO or MP and 68 was either MI or MO. -
Anyone know anything about the red concept next to the Camback?

IHC Scout
IHSS replied to Bart68's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Those decals are actually factory stock graphics. My 79 scout originaly was robin egg blue with that style stripe kit. I think IHC called it the flame graphic or somthing close. My scout also had a plaid baby blue over white interior. -

What about this place. VCG resins. I don't know anything about them, I just stumbled on them looking for wheels and thought of this thread. The bodies with the nose is 17.50 seems like a decent price even if there not that great. But it looks good from the photo's -
Putty that can be shaped, then machined?
IHSS replied to Bowtienutz's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I've only used their paints, which are awsome and do what htey claim. But P.O.R.15 used to make a 2 part putty the they claimed could be drilled and tapped, but I've never used it so I can't say what it's like. -
Thanks Steve. The proportion issue was my concern. I had a mid 70's ta years ago that was rediculuos how bad it was. I din't know mpc made an 81 the only one I've seen is the Fujimi, thanks for the heads up.

Has anyone built this kit? was wondering how it is. Is the detail and molds good? is it worth the 40 bucks? My first car was an 81 camaro that was replaced with an 81 Z28 a few years later. I want to build a replica of the Z I had and have never been able to get the hood right, trying to make it from the monogram 79 Z kit. Mine was a 305 4spd from the factory that I swapped in an lt1 from a 701/2 Z . Thats one of the "ones that got away" for me. It wasn't a very good newengland winter car so I traded it for a 79 IH Scout that I still have and am getting ready to restore soon. Ok enough rambling thanks for your time and comments Jeff

The purple would look cool and is a very rare color. The aniversary edition had white seats front and rear and the door panels had white leather inserts on them too. Or you could go with the yellow and black ce that had black rims with an aluminum lip.

All the TA's came with silver painted rims and chrome was optional. Base TA's with the flat hood had 16"s and Firehawk and WS6 cars all came with 17's. So its entirely up to you which you like better. I had a 2000 SS I ordered new and left the chrome option off. I thought the 4th gen F-bodies look better without the chrome wheels but its up to you niether is more correct than the other.

Revell "Orange Crate" '32 Ford Sedan Hot Rod
IHSS replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
OkI just checked mine out. It is the last issue fo it. Theres no skill level on it and it has a 1999 copyright date. I had assumed it was the newer one becase the guy I got it from had 4 or 5 five of them and mostly new kits at his table. So its still a question whether new one has the resin hood or not. -

I'm pretty sure the kit I got is the new release but I'm not positive. It does have the resin hood. Does any one know how to tell by the box numbers or if there is a date on there somwhere? I'm at work now but can check when i get home.
