  1. Good clue. Linda Kozlowski
  2. Yup. REAL hot. Quite a hit with other species too, apparently...
  3. And this sultry siren of the silver screen?
  4. Very nice. I think Revell did a better job on the chop on this one than they did on the '49 Merc. Anyway, beautiful model. Maroon is, to me, one of the two best colors for the '48 Ford, whether standard or custom. Great paint, fine work overall. I'd be proud to have my name on that one.
  5. Wow. that's another one I'd forgotten about entirely. Cool find, Tom. I never had one of those, but remember wanting one to figure out how to make moving non-train vehicles on my HO railroad layout. Other memories triggered by the Fort Apache reference...I don't recall if it was this specific set, but something very similar was great fun in the garden behind our house in NJ...man, I would get filthy. And these, which I remember from as far back as being 5 or 6 when we were in Ohio. Had one of these too, and later something even more 'dangerous' that mixed vinegar and baking soda for propellant. That was, of course, before moving on the real Estes rockets...
  6. '70 Prostreet Coronet. I'm using one in this build... http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/58538-project-phoenix-custom-61-dodge-dart-resurrection-the-wall-march-29/?page=6 This video shows the parts and calls them out specifically.
  7. Over the years I've had occasion to paint a lot of full-scale stuff, ranging from high-end cars and aircraft to presentation product-design prototypes. Your procedure sounds like it's spot on...though I usually go with 180 grit for my pre-primer sanding. A cleaning with 70% isopropyl alcohol both before you sand and after is good insurance. (Cleaning before sanding removes any contaminants that can possibly get 'sanded' into the surface if not removed.) If you can, I'd try to let your primer dry at least overnight before color coating too. Wipe it again with iso just prior to paint. I've had fisheyes come up out of nowhere when I thought there was no possibility of contamination...but not since I've started the iso cleaning before paint too. If you want even better adhesion and chip-resistance, about all you can do is to go to epoxy primers and paints.
  8. Yeah, that was her. She got a fast growing tumor on her ear, none of the drug therapies worked and I couldn't pay the 6 grand for radiation, she was bleeding everywhere, was obviously very uncomfortable if not in constant pain...and the damm tumor finally closed her ear up and was going into her brain, so I had to put her down. I'm sure she would have done the same for me. Coolest cat I ever knew. Never complained or got snotty, up until the last moment. People should have so much class.
  9. No idea who she is Carl, but...wow.
  10. Thank you sir. The two you highlighted are the two closest to done, but I put a '37 nose on the channeled / sectioned '40 speedster (just to see what it could look like) and though I like it, it needs to get back to the original design shown here. The '32 is so close, I just need some self-discipline to get the small stuff done....but it's hard for me to get on the bench when I know I'm only going to get in 15 minutes or so.
  11. Works for me. Love those two of yours, too. Drag-racing's golden age, in scale plastic.
  12. Pardo did some really nice work while he was at Ford. Does anyone know the reason he left (or was asked to leave) ?
  13. http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1017215_designing-the-exterior-of-the-ford-gt-video
  14. Yeah, all of mine are stalled. If I put them up, it would just be the same bunch of halfway stuff I've been showing here for years. No time again, not for the next year probably, at least. Oh, what the hell. Here's a few..
  15. Indeed. Good looking models, real good. Ride's nice too. Welcome.
  16. Obscure language.
  17. Hey kids !! Get yours TODAY !!
  18. Ah, Hedy. Another one of my personal choices for the 5 most beautiful women who ever lived. Uber intelligent too. Wow. Man. Damm.
  19. I've had a bottle or 3 of Macallan's 12 over the years as gifts as well. Much appreciated gifts. Dewars, though I like its taste, put me off with its "do-ers" Scotch-of-choice-for-yuppies advertising campaign. 'Bout the time I discovered single-malts...which were a plenty obscure language of their own at the time.
  20. My cat friend who died last year was abandoned in my neighborhood. My gain (and I think the cat was pretty cool with it too). 14 years of companionship and unconditional happy-to-see-me, never a bitchy word, always up for a lap sit or a head scratch. A very intelligent and affectionate animal. I could never imagine what would have possessed someone to dump her like a burger wrapper. A lot of people are far less than animals.
  21. Oh yes, Glenfiddich 18 is wonderful stuff. It's always fascinated me how widely the single malts differ as to taste and bite. JW Blue Label is damm fine too, probably my favorite of the blends. Course, I like plain old Johnny Walker, Cutty, Bushmills, Ballentines... I don't know much about bourbons, other than I usually like the ones I've tried. A lot. (Not so much these days though. I think all I've had has been two beers in the last two years, maybe half a bottle of white wine. What a wimp.)
  22. If you can find it, it may just help you to learn Gaelic...
  23. Nice. I'm usually not a fan of 2-tones on fat-fendered Fords, but this works well. Very attractive car.
