Glitch in my cell carrier. Phone's "deactivated", waiting for an hour for "customer service", have the provider site up which shows a successful auto-pay was made today, and my bank site shows a good transaction. I'm so sick of having to rely on incompetenrt BS. My ISP is constantly down-and-back-up for no apparent reason too, most usually when I'm in the middle of trying to conduct business or order parts. God, give me the strength to finish my work and get on down the road to full retirement. I really can't stand being at the mercy of dwerbles much longer.

"New" isn't necessarily better.

What's with the U.S.Post office these days?

They've been doing well for me too recently. Knock on wood... -
"Believe nothing that you hear and only half of what you see" is still pretty good advice.

No. No. No. Nope. I'll go in person, every time. Until I fall off my perch. Even at that there's no absolute guarantee you'll be counted accurately, but at least one layer of incompetence is avoided. (This is NOT a "political" reference. It's recognizing rampant incompetence and uncaring in every facet of life, including the USPS) -
75F today with 25% humidity, kinda like AZ., cold front coming through tonight with rain, low 47F, high tomorrow 55F, low tomorrow night 32F.

"Hand me a 14mm combination wrench" I said to my assigned assistant...who just looked at me like I was speaking Swahili.

Green is supposed to be the color of envy and jealousy, but it's also the color of two of the prettiest eyes I've ever seen.

Have you thought about using cheap disposable lighter shells? I just noticed a couple on my desk that should work great. EDIT: To get the Ford script, resize an internet image, trace it on .020" styrene sheet, cut it out with a very sharp X-Acto, glue it to your end cap, then bury it in enough primer to fill the edges. If your hands don't shake, it IS possible.

The photo above is of a luxuried-up fiberglass Cobra copy. Real Cobras have, at most, carpet glued to the inside of the outer door skins, and floppy vinyl or leather pockets, like zo... Hard top roof for AMT Sunbeam Tiger....?
Ace-Garageguy replied to Belugawrx's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I don't have a hardtop, but dang it, now I need the kit... -
Exceptional job on a genuinely difficult, marginal kit. For all its warts, it's always been one of my favorites.

Apologize when you're honestly in the wrong, but never ever allow yourself to be browbeaten into false admissions of guilt and contrition.
-
Pretty much the world we live in now, and if you lose your temper in the face of such glaring uncaring incompetence...guess who's the bad guy.

Learn that "mistakes were made" is a favorite phrase used by people who don't want to admit making them.

What non-auto model did you get today?
Ace-Garageguy replied to chunkypeanutbutter's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
22 more nicely-built vintage HO scale ore cars from Varney, Walthers, and Roundhouse (these brands kinda overlap now), most with sprung trucks, blackened metal wheels, and upgraded couplers...for less than 1/2 of what I'd have had to pay for current production models...and these have several different road names and no repeating numbers (the one high-side car has been modified to represent a real car that's been modded to carry much lighter coke). My proposed dream layout (to represent America at the peak of her industrial capacity) includes a steel mill operation and an iron mining operation, so a lot of these small cubic capacity ore cars are needed to make up believable unit-trains going to the ore docks, lined up on a dock, going directly to the mills, or waiting to be loaded or unloaded as well. -
"Weekend" doesn't have a whole lot of meaning if you have long term projects hanging over you that require serious thinking-through.

Italeri 1/24 Ferrari 250GT California Spyder

Shaping up very nicely. -
Briefcase contents include made-at-home sandwiches for those office drones who'd rather spend money on vacations or other cool stuff than on $30 lunches every workday.

Too many cooks spoil everything they get their little "me wanna help too, mommy" hands on, with a lot of modern car designs being prime examples.
