Yes sir, you are absolutely correct, as you're well aware. I will now self-flagellate for failing to make that distinction.

If somebody isn't paying you a LOT of money to design cars, there's no justice in the world.

Fenderless Ford Roadster Hot Rods

If you were "probed", you're an expert. -
I'm sure there's a point to all this, but I've yet to figure it out. On the upside, it's given me an idea for a dry-lakes car running Dunning-Kruger sponsorship.

'67 Chevelle: Revell vs AMT

THANK YOU ALL ! MOST helpful. -
Which is an entirely different kit than the ancient AMT 5-window I assumed this thread was about. NO common tooling. The American Graffiti car is also available as a die-cast kit, and they both have their share of problems too.

So, um, you've never actually seen or handled a resin part? -
Red Baron Engine
Ace-Garageguy replied to Psychographic's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
The real car was built AFTER the model, and did in fact use a Pontiac OHC six. The actual engine represented in the kit would have been HUGE, which is why it's significantly scaled-down for the fantasy model. The Poncho six is about the right size to go in the engine bay. -
What non-auto model did you get today?

Red Baron Engine

I LIKE what you've got going here. If my memory serves me well today, I recall the engine in question is in fact (based on) a seriously scaled-DOWN version of a Daimler-Benz in-line aircraft engine from about 1914. http://thevintageaviator.co.nz/projects/mercedes-engine/daimler-mercedes-d-iii-series-engine I don't have access to my kit at the moment, but I'm pretty sure the induction system is NOT as it was on the aircraft installation...a dual updraft carb rig. I think the model represents the "fuel injection" as having throttle bodies similar to a Hilborn mechanical system, so you'd do your fuel lines like that, with a high-pressure mechanical pump added wherever you can make it look reasonably legit. -
The local Chrysler dealership had the OEM electronic part I needed for a 2001 vehicle...which made me VERY happy. I feel much better signing off on a client's car if I can use OEM electronics rather than some unknown-quantity offshore-built piece of mystery crapp that may only work a few weeks, if at all. I've had aftermarket 中国神秘 sensors send vehicle computers into permanent "check engine" mode, where the values sent to the ECU were outside the parameters the ECU expected to see.

Good looking Fords, but I really like your diorama. Just the right amount of clutter and stains on the floor to look like a real working shop...not a TV set.

This is another one I never even knew existed, found out about it on a thread here. I've started collecting interesting background pieces in 1/24-1/25, and truck loads. -
Build thread with extensive chassis mods here...

Thanks for reminding me. I NEED to get an order in SOON.

What a shame that so few humans do.

One can only hope that true AI will be too smart to have to resort to war between differing nodes of itself. Can't you just imagine armies of robots slugging it out because they each thought THEIR programmers were better, or because one group believed they were developed from typewriters, and the other group were certain THEY were developed from adding machines, and a third group believed they sprung forth fully formed from the mind of Alan Turing? Nah.

I don't know what they're teaching in schools in South America, but the convention when I was in school in North America (and today) is that North and South America are TWO SEPARATE CONTINENTS, with Central America being a "region", a part of the North American continent, often including Mexico, sometimes not...depending on the purpose and originator of the map or the discussion in question. Taken together, North and South America are referred to as "the Americas", but distinct as members of the accepted "seven continents, 5 oceans" view of the planet. (And though you can obviously walk from the eastern edge of Asia to the western edge of Europe, they're still considered to be two distinct continents) Below, sourced from http://www.7continents5oceans.com/ North America North America is a continent which lies wholly in the northern hemisphere. It is bordered by Arctic Ocean in the north, Atlantic Ocean in the east, Pacific Ocean in the south and west, and South America and Caribbean Sea in the south east. North America lies almost wholly in the western hemisphere. North America covers almost 4.8 percent of the earth’s surface and comprises around 16.5 percent of the whole land area on earth. North America is home to nearly 565 million people. About 7.5 percent of the world’s population lives here. It is the third largest continent in the world by area and fourth largest continent by population. Most of the land and area of the continent is dominated by Canada, United States of America, Greenland and Mexico. There are also many smaller states in the Central America and Caribbean regions. South America South America is a continent located in the western hemisphere with most of its land area lying in the southern hemisphere and a relatively small portion in the northern hemisphere. It has Pacific Ocean to its western side, Atlantic Ocean in the north and eastern side, and North America and Caribbean Sea in the North West side. With an area covering 17,840,000 square kilometres and a population of more than 3 billion, South America is the fourth largest continent in terms of size and fifth in terms of population. South America is home to twelve sovereign states and two non sovereign states. It is generally considered to be a subcontinent of the Americas.

I searched the forum and all I came up with was a thread about the pro-street versions. Reference was made as to the Revell version having the more accurate body. I'm close to completing my part of a build of a 1:1 for a client, and I'm thinking of doing him a model of the car. Guy's been one of the most pleasant people to deal with I've ever had the pleasure of knowing, so I thought a little gesture of appreciation might be nice. Anyway, which kit really DOES have the best-looking stock body? (the exterior of the real car is being kept very close to stock) AND...which pro-street chassis is nicer? We're running something similar to a Morrison, with tubular front control arms and a Ford 9" out back.

Man. Damm. That's nice.
