32 Ford Chassis
Ace-Garageguy replied to TarheelRick's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Well, if you just print to order, you could do any scale someone wanted. I know of several 3D printers who print to order, payment in advance. I'd think the problem would be getting your frame price down enough to be really competitive with buying '32 kits that have a lot of other parts, and still make some profit yourself. There's something of a market for '32 ford frames in 1/12 and 1/16 as well. I'd certainly buy at least one of each, more if they were GOOD. 1/8 is covered with the Revellogram Big Deuce kit parts, but they're kinda spendy, so there's that too. I have bought 3D parts that are gooey messes prone to warpage, or are brittle, and other 3D parts that seem to be very stable, so apparently no-warp quality CAN be done if you know what you're doing. -

"Doggie" names like Spot can be kinda funny if given to cats, as Data did with an orange tabby.

Thanks for your input. I hadn't even looked at anything from a doing-it standpoint yet, so this is very helpful.

Sale prices usually still leave plenty of profit margin for the seller, but tend to make the shopper believe they're getting a special deal when they're in reality just paying a fair price for an item without excessive markup.

Yup. But it has all the old "Styline" parts, which can be pretty cool.

You can pick your friends, and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friend's nose. -
That does not compute.

All the interest on another thread in a '62 Ford got me jonesin' for some early '60s American iron (I have a lot of builtups, some nice, some gloobombs, but not many cherries), so I let one of these follow me home. Plan is to build a mildly hotted up Starliner using remains of a short-shotted '60 body (roof) and chassis.
