Thanks a lot Slusher, I had the Yellow paint sat for ages before i found a kit to use it with ! I'm usually more in favour of darker colours but recently i've been using a lot of brighter ones and i'm really starting to like them.
-
This is built from the Tamiya kit, It is box stock and was a really nice kit to build, I'm happy with the results but i should have put more time into getting the Two sides of the tank to fit properly, but you live and learn and i'm certainly planning on building more of the Tamiya bike kits so any experience with them is a good thing. I am also missing a mirror as the dog got at it before i had a chance to take the photos !

I bought this kit cheap without a box and instructions from ebay and used it as a bit of a "slump buster" after trying my hand at a couple of truck kits with mixed results. It is from a set of 3 kits by Revell. The paint is Tamiya Bright Mica Red and Tamiya clear. It was a pretty quick build taking just over 1 day and is built box stock. I'm quite happy with the results here are the pics

This is built box stock (curbside) from the Tamiya kit, The kit is basic but it went together with no problems. I painted it with Plasticote Buttercup Yellow and used Plasticote clear, both rattlecans. Its my first time using the clear and it was brilliant, as good as if not better than Tamiya. Here are the pics, all indoors unfortunately as we have not seen any sun round here for ages ! thanks for looking, as always any feedback or criticisms are most welcome.

i agree, i thought it was a win-able game vs houston but our offense just couldn't get going. Shame really as it was a great chance to get dalton a playoff win that would serve us well going into next year. Hopefully the steelers will struggle next year too and we'll get another shot at it.

awesome mike, i love it ! great build and the paint is fantastic, it really does scream out Panthers. Not the best season for you guys but i think it's a hiccup, you have the pieces in place to turn it around quickly and a good draft should put you back into contention. I feel a bit spoilt with two playoff years on the bounce for the Bengals to be honest but i'm certainly enjoying it !

AMT Western Star colour info needed

i used tamiya desert yellow on mine and it looked very close to the above referance picture -
awesome thanks for the help guys, i was using the pit fenders and they just do not fit, i'll get on with the rounded fenders, hopefully i can get the paint to match the hood ! I'm quite glad it wasn't just me having a bit of a brain fart. My knowlege of trucks pretty much starts and stops at "they pull stuff" I just followed the instructions and built it box stock. I have no idea why revell would include these "pit fenders" when the fit is so bad, nevermind have them as the box stock option. I'll post the pics when i'm finished, I'm sure with it being my first attempt at a truck i have a lot to learn !

I'm building my first truck model and have come into a little problem, on the peterbilt 353 by revell i have just started the final assembly and The engine cover will not tilt forwards due to the front fenders hitting the cylinders (no truck knowledge, i don't know the name ) attached to the cab. Has anybody else built this kit ? if so how did you get around this issue ? i have followed the instructions to a T and can not for the life of me work out if i have made a mistake or if the kit is just a really poor fit. many thanks in advance for any help or advise offered - phil

it looks fantastic, i built this kit not long ago and loved it. it's certainly one of the best kits i've ever built.

i think it is a great idea, and a subsection in "community" gets my vote. There are so many interesting builders on here i'd love to learn more about. -
awesome, i look forward to seeing your progress, Coincidentally i'm currently building a tokyo marui countach lp500 kit, i'm using it as a kind of experimental build just to try out some different things with painting. good luck with the camborghini !!

welcome, as a relatively new model builder myself i would advise you to walk before you can crawl. get yourself some cheapish kits and build them up to hone your skills, just try to focus on clean builds and nice paint. I made the mistake of building a model i really wanted as my first and messed it up pretty bad. I have not been able to get my hands on the kit since and regret rushing in. good luck with your building and i look forward to seeing some of your work. -
