  1. Try comic book and baseball card shops. They may have something to fit your needs.
  2. Check it out online. Unless it is a limited edition or has something else unique about it most things these days are produced in such high numbers that they will never be worth more than you originally paid for it.
  3. you can get plastic display cases at hobby lobby a dab of clear silicon under the tires will keep it from rolling around and you can silicon the case shut. But short of building a case of steel and bullet proof glass there's not much you can do about theft. There are all sorts of uv resistant coatings out t,here but the paint will eventually fade so I would go with rogers idea sorry I couldn't be more help. good luck with the model and sorry for your loss.
  4. Lmao... thanks guys you made my day. Happy b-day rob.
  5. You can stack a few square pieces together and cut them out on a scrollbars saw if you gave one.
  6. Once I saw an extension ladder on a mini van held only by a single rope in the middle spin sideways. Glad I didn't try to pass. Another time on the interstate I saw 3 dinning room chairs spaced a half mile apart then saw the truck pulled off to the side and the driver looking at it like "where did they go?". I too laugh at these engineering marvels until I remember the poor woman killed here a few years ago when a ladder came off a truck and went through her windshield sending her over the side of a bridge. Rope is cheap and there's no such thing as using too much.
  7. Thanks everyone for all your help. I was worried that the only guns I could find would look odd with the figures I'm planning to have custom done for this build.
  8. I understand inflation and I'm not saying I should get a kit for the same 5 bucks I paid more than 20a years ago. But, that warbird didn't cost any more than any other kit at the time and the quality is better. Nor am I talking about photo etched parts and the like to recreate every little detail. My point is that there is no reason kit companies can't add a little more detail to parts already included in the box without tripling the price. They Sid it then they can do it now. Also, it wouldn't kill the to retool some kits (1orthinking two a year) instead of using the same mold from 20 to 50 years ago. Better quality in a basic kit equals more sales equals more profit.
  9. I have a 20+ year old warbird trans am with Goodyear tires and nice dual carbs with linkage all original to the kit. If it could be done then is it too much to ask for that quality today?
  10. Thanks, but I was hoping for something other than scratch building. The only thing I've seen for models is in1:32 I just don't know what's out there for military stuff, it could even be from a toy.
  11. I'd like in in this if it's ok. But I been a little help. What can I use for guns? I'd like a quad 50 or twin minigun but would consider something else. The build would be in 1:25 scale.
  12. I don't see 1or2a new tooling a year bankrupting a company and shareholders would likely see a increase. As far as licensing goes, perhaps the 1:1 companies could give the model companies a brake in exchange for promanant advertising on the box. Something like " '68 nova chevy 2 featuring Goodyear tires" . (Just a thought)
  13. Wondering how many of these suggestions actually reach the kit companies? I would like to see some detail on tires myself even if it's not the name of an actual company. They could even use there own name, rebellion tire would look veteran than just a round chunk of rubber.
  14. Micro mark has some metal and plastic though I don't know how good the selection is or how prices compare with others. Coast airbrush has a large selection of paint including hok and wicked color.
  15. Great job billy. I would love to see a step by step. What model airbrush did you use?
  16. Never done any molding myself. Seems to me that you would have to sculpt the second half form scratch in clay or something similar then mold and cast that. Unless you can make a thin mold of existing part out of silicone pop it inside out and make a mold of that (not sure if it will work. You might be better off to ask if anyone has one they can spare. Someone here has a ton of bumpers I saw in another post. I think the topic said something about model gods. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
  17. Welcome. There's no lots to be found here and good people to help you out with any questions.
  18. The real ones are vinyl so I would think any print shop sign shop or shop that does car wraps should be able to print you a sheet with about a dozen on a 8 x 10 sheet. Just ask them the worst the can do is say no. Good luck in your search.
  19. I MIGHT know someone. Though not a modeler he is a well rounded artist. I'll try to get more info. But it may be a couple days. If you guys find someone else could you please post info here or on links page? Im sure there are others (including. Myself ) who would be interested in one off figures.
  20. Had the same thought the other day. Only my tops where from a frosty beverage for adult consumption.
  21. Technicolor rats. That's just what we all need.
  22. Ah yes, snowbirds. Too bad we can't hunt 'em. Lol.
  23. The answer is as "arty"as you want. If YOU want to see build details go to the on the workbench or under glass section this is the general section where people can get as "arty" as they like regardless of details. If art has no place on this forum then all builds should be out of the box and there should not be a community build project based on auto art work.
  24. If it's just one or two small spots you can touch up with a brush then wet sand to blend it sack in then clear the entire body. Otherwise you may have to strip the whole thing and start over. What kind of tape did you use? What paint did you use and how long did you let it dry before taping it off?
