  1. Until this past year the use of signals was considered a courtesy in Florida and you were not legally required to use them.
  2. Actually I thought the purpose of posting here (general) was for just about anything and the on the workbench and under glass sections were for showing your work. What's wrong with a little creative photography? We all get a little "artsy" with our models why not the photos of them?
  3. Using that logic automotive paints should only be used on1:1 cars.
  4. Cool.....look like 1:1's sitting in a driveway.
  5. How about ultra flat black with a water splash type graphic done in blood red or red with ghosted stretched faces?
  6. Looks like it's just getting closer to paint. Can't wait to see it finished. Keep up the good work.
  7. From the side this thing looks like a predecessor of the nova or chevelle. This car has tons of potential. Don't see why you couldn't do anything to it that hasn't been done to 49get mercs an the like. Maybe manufacturers could do a what if kind of thing with variants as in what if tucker stayed in business an had different models like a hard top and a convertible etc.
  8. Got a kenworth w 900 ( thinking zombie hunter on that one), a 57 chevy nomad (10 bucks on clearance ) and some frisket.
  9. Welcome, haven't been here long myself. With all the info here there's no doubt we'll both improve greatly. Nice builds btw.
  10. Rebellion 68 charger and 69 nova ss have both handles and wipers separate though I havent looked at them close enough to judge the quality yet.
  11. Very nice. Working on the same kit my self. Mine will be gold and white with vinyl top. The only thing that bugs me is the decals for the side marker lights so I found some tiny washers in the rc section of the hobby shop , a little filing to get them the right size and shape and a little paint should do the trick. Keep up the good work.
  12. I'm not a fan of low riders but I love the concept. You have given me some ideas for a future build. I also paint gaming minies but never thought of using them on a model. Looking good keep it coming.
  13. He's a whining little girl. His other show Jessie james must die should have kept going until they succeeded.
  14. You should really wear a mask when painting lol.
  15. Nice to see people trying to get kids involved in the hobby. Modeled are the only thing I can think of that's educational without kids knowing it. They teach how to follow directions and paience among others. Darren try building a car from one of the video games like twisted metal or something. If that doesn't work you can always cut one of the cords and blame it on the cat.
  16. Let's. Not forget suffocation warnings on trash bags.
  17. I never used a booth before always painted outside. Now however I am looking to build my own so I can paint in my garage. Fumes are not a big deal most of the year as I can open two windows as well as the two big garage doors. The problem for me is controlling overspray and keeping dust off the fresh paint. I would love to buy a good booth it's just not in the budget. I see it this way. If you can afford to buy a good booth or don't feel comfortable building your own then go for it. If you can't afford one or just like to build things then be smart and be safe. I agree that overspray dust (and any other dust for that matter) can burn and I KNOW that propellant from spray cans is flammable so you can start a fire from a sparking motor. If you think that people are just trying to scare you fine, but rip on someone for trying to keep others safe and don't whine about it or go looking for donations to help rebuild your house if it burns down.

Hey tom and Robert. I'm on southside. Tom I might also lived in Virginia for about 12 years.
  19. If you left the post on the skull you can drill a small hole in the grill (the part you drew on) an glue the post into that. Another option might be to cut out the inside of the where you drew make the web so it fits in snug from the back side (but pushed all the post way forward ) then glue the grill in behind that. The web and skull would have to be one piece though. Soldering it together would help. I've never tried this though so not sure it will work. Also you could heat a piece of sprue an stretch it to form the web. Good luck and post some pics when you're done should look cool. I might try something similar on my 49old chevy.
  20. Cool idea. I like the idea of the grill as a backdrop. Although you might want to play around with the position of the skull. To me it kinda looks like the queen from the aliens movie. No offense.
  21. Thanks. Anyone else?
  22. Anyone ever use the p.e. nova parts from mcg? I'm trying to recreate my old 68 nova and need badging that reads nova chevy2 by Chevrolet and can't tell if any of mcg's three nova p.e. kits have it from the photos. If not does anyone know where or if I can find them?
  23. Yes, you can paint without leaving brush marks flowaid, retarder, reducers, extenders slow dry times and help level the paint. I believe testors makes a kit that allows you to spray bottle paint kind of a poor mans airbrush. Single action airbrush is a step up. Dual action airbrush is the best. Save your money and buy a good airbrush personally I'd pass on horrible freight I haven't bought anything mechanical from them last more than a few days. Check out coastairbrush.com they have everything from air brushes to books to paint including house of kolor, wicked color, and tamiya. Also check out airbrush action magazine they have a micro airbrushing dvd. This issue also has a compressor buyers guide and an article on model car painting basics.
