'Understatement' is the key

I saw a metallic gray 65/66 shooting brake at this years Goodguys in Phoenix, and my intial thought was 'oh dear', however as I got closer, this thing was so well executed, relatively understated, with some nice '60's touches, I really liked it, I don't want one, but I like it.

I agree, I'm not likely to win a trophy or get one of my efforts on a magazine cover, I'm content

i'm a regular at the Goodguys Car Show in Phoenix......the free model building competition is always very crowded, with kids, very crowded.....sometimes you can't even get a table.

That's the spirit that built an Empire.....onwards and upwards !!!!

Anyone got a recommendeation for a cost effective, spray booth with extractor fan? I'm sure that, given time, I could make something, but I've so little time, at this point, I'd rather buy something. Ideally I'd like something that I could set up in the house and extract the fumes through dryer house out of a window.

Have you considered Craigslist, local, online advertising, but no shipping, buyer collects item(s) from you.

Looking at the way you've numbered all those parts for paint, you aren't by any chance an engineer of some kind are you (compliment).

Ive taken an oil filter from the parts box, make sure It's solid, or fill it with putty, paint it add a gauge decal and wire it, add a loop of foil around the gauge face.

Very clean build, unusual, but pleasing color combination. Great job!

This evening I got the clutch bell housing attached to the transmission. The kit comes with a clutch which is (potentially) viewable through an removable observation / maintenance panel, on the underside of the bell housing. Glued the cylinder heads to the block. Lapping the tops of the block, removing fine molded detail, will make the cylinder heads seat better. Detail will be obscured by cylinder heads anyway. Also the height of the location pins on the cylinder heads needed to be trimmed a little for a good seat. Both halves of the, nicely detailed, rear end are glued together. Poke yoked alignment pins made this a no brainer. I want to separate the pumpkin detail with paint later on. Thanks for viewing.

I'm building a 1/16 426 Hemi for a project and would like to replace the kit blower with a carburetor and air cleaner set up. Does anyone know if this is available in resin?

The future sucess of modeling will hinge on appealing to the youth, who are less interested in driving and fixing real cars, and more interested in electronic gadgets and games. Here's an idea....out of the box....partner with a gaming company, have a way for the kid to take his finished model to the local model shop, have it scanned and digitized and be able to upload it into the game, so he can 'drive it'....

Very cool, excellent bodywork. One technique from the real word that I've never tried with a model is 'guide coat'. After your basic repair / patch and sanding, spray an extremely thin, coat of contrasting paint over the reworked area, block sand, if you can remove all the paint, then you have no low spots. If there are spots of paint left, fill the low spot and repeat.
