  1. I would have to make him pay to ship it back too. If you only get your 19.99 back and then have to spend 7-10 to send the kit back you aren't whole, you are still out shipping. In this situation you shouldn't have to be liable for return postage since there misrepresenatation was so gross. If you do have to pay for postage I would grind the kit up in a food processor until it will fit in a small padded envelope so your shipping will only be a couple of bucks.
  2. The other day I broke a personal knife handling rule of my own and put the knife point up sticking out of the box because I couldn't see what was on the bottom of the box and I didn't want to damage the glass or decals. Before long I reached across the box and got a good poke in the heel of my hand and then promptly turned the knife the correct way.
  3. If you can live with it not being the exact right body Missing Link casts a 73-79 F700. The site says to use a F-350 kit to finish it, I would use a Louisville for the frame and such. http://www.missinglinkrc.com/70s_f700_2012.htm
  4. Yeah, Asheville is the San Franciso of the east coast.
  5. I have to agree, it isn't like there was a minor ommission or miscommunication, he blatantly misrepresented a used and mostly assembled kit as brand new.
  6. I guess I will have to do some scratchin', I want to build an accurate Bigfoot 1 model and it ran an Alan Root pro stock motor in the mid eighties.
  7. Be careful that you don't wipe through the chrome, sometimes the thinner plus wiping will cause the chrome to come off.
  8. Is there any kit has these heads? They are Alan Root custom Boss heads for prostock Ford engines.
  9. I'm going to try to make it, I live an hour or so away but nothing really happens around here.
  10. Here is a kink to a show coming in August that is close to you. http://www.carolinakustommodelers.com/
  11. A 94 F-150 should have this suspension, only the F-350 4x4s had straight axles. It is kind of like the Corvair suspension.
  12. The easiest way to strip chrome is with Windex or bleach or Purple Power. TTB is Twin Traction Beam, it is a 4x4 version of a terrible IFS design Ford came up with in the early sixties. Instead of the dual A arm suspension Chevy used Ford mounted the front tires on a beam that was hinged under the oil pan and held in place by a radius rod that wouldn't feel out of place on a Model T. This causes the camber of the tire to change dramatically through the suspension arc. The system is nearly impossible to align and the 4x4 version is even worse when lifted.
  13. Even on low a crock pot is hot enough to ruin plastic.
  14. This kit is only leaf srung in the back, it has the TTB front end setup.
  15. In that kit the rear axle is separate from the leaf springs, you can put lift blocks between the springs and axle. In the front you will need to put a block on the bottom of the K member where both TTB arms mount under the oil pan. You will also have to add blocks on top of the piece that is the coil spring and shock where it meets the frame. The truck will still be two wheel drive though. With a little modification you can use the front end parts from the Monogram Bronco kit to make it a 4x4.
  16. Are you talking about the 87-91 extended cab long bed F-250?
  17. Hey Austin, could you get a back account with a debit card? You could link that to paypal and still use ebay but you would also have a place to save your money.
  18. I live close to Kings Mountain state park where the Patriot militia defeated the Loyalist militia and prevented the invasion of North Carolina by Cornwallis.
  19. If you want to talk famous residents, James Worthy went to the same highschool as my wife, Ashbrook, in Gastonia NC.
  20. What kind of flat white was it? It sounds paint incompatibility.
  21. Depending on how old you want to go Kitchen Table Resins makes a Ford 200 straight six that is correct for Mustangs up to at least 68.
  22. Wayne, I think I had those hot rods when I was a kid and yep, they were very typical of Lego design at the time, what I call the four wide period. The great new six wide trucks and things were after my time. Greg, that rifle is so cool. Some people amaze me with their creativity.
  23. You may have to flip the spindles, I seem to remember that they are made to where you can't raise the pin. Either that or make your own from sprue.
  24. A free program I use is Paint.net (http://www.getpaint.net/). It's pixel based but is fairly simple and supports standard file formats.
