Nice build of a great old kit. On a side note, Lamborghini was supposed to handle the production of the M1 for BMW. But Lamborghini was so strapped at the time they couldn't do it and the deal fell thru.

Looks good lowered! Love this kit.

Just saw this thread, hey, I'm still new here! Anyway, this is me at Wonderfest from May of this year. Yeah, you can tell I'm a scifi modeler!

Thanks kruleworld. Yes, there will be extensive mods to the entrior. I will be adding a photoetched set that replaces the rear wall and all the console faces. The entiors floor has already been removed and new seat brackets are being fabbed up at the moment. The lighting has been changed as well. The 1.8mm LEDs have been dumped in favor of all SMT LEDs and a custom board to power them. It was (the cicruit board) actually made for the Jupiter 2 as the Fusion Core. The maker of this board reprogrammed the board to flash all the light randomly for me. At no charge! Here are some updates. I will post a short video today of a test of the new lights. Details added to the inner door panles, including pull handles. Hinges complete. Doors are held open by small Rare Eart magnets. Doors in action! Main insturment pod moddified. Clear sections added that will be lit from underneath with a yellow LED. This is the circuit board that will power all the flashing lights. Fits nicely in the rear.

Great job on this kit! Love the opening doors and hinges you made for it. Simple kit but a great build Congrats! I have the sister kit in my stash, the Corvette Indy show car.

Thanks Ed! I knew there had to be more than a few scifi fans here, LOL. The hardest and most nerve wracking was cutting those long clear side windows away from the main windshield. Clear plastic as we all know does not like to be cut very much! It took about 20 minutes of careful, slow scoring to seperate the glass on each side. Build is moving aong and I will have more updates soon!
-
Update time- I seperated the doors. I painted the panel lines black so I could see them better from underneath. I used a ball cutter in my Dremel to remove material beneath the panel liine. This allowed me to finish the cut with a few swipes of my Xacto blade. The doors taped together to check for fit. A small filler plate was added to extend the front of the door to make it more "substantial". Also, a bit of photo etched detail added for visual interest. I'll work on making the actual hinges today. More to come....

O.K. I moved this thread from "On the Bench" to here since this is a scifi subject. I'm shortening the originl text and will mainly show pics and videos of my progress. Pics are clickable. The Spinner, by Fujimi, will be lit with over thirty 1.8mm and SMT LEDs. Short video of some of the LEDs going into this build. Working on modifying light housings to accept the new LEDs. Stock on left and modified on the right. Short video testing 1.8mm LED in one of the bubble domes for the roof. Working on making the doors operable as well. Scribing along the window frames to seperate the side glass using my pinvise and sewing needle. And seperated. Set back in place to check fit. Looks good.

Very nice looking so far. Love the Cobra's. Looking forward to your progress on this.

Nice build. That Michael figure is great! Need to get one for my build. I think scaleproducts needs to do some Bladerunner figures for Fujimi's Spinner!

MOEBIUS FLYING SUB
robiwon replied to MichaelJ's topic in WIP: All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
Thanks, the base is just crumpled aluminum foil glued to a wood plaque and painted blue and white. This is an awesome little kit. The fold up cardboard interior is just too cool. -

Nice build there! You guys are not the only ones who loved the show! Here is my little sub! -
Moved to "All The Rest" section.

Gotta love dragons! Very nice! -
MCM, replied to your PM! Thanks again for the comments guys.Just as a side note for any scifi fans, Pegasus will also be releasing some kits soon from the movie Terminator. They will be doing the Hunter Killer Tank and the flying Hunter Killer. Both will come with chrome plated Endoskeletons in 1/35!

Yeah, I know, no new car kits yet. I do have the Bladerunner Spinner police car in the que though. This is the vinyl Vermithrax Pejorative kit by Pegasus. Very nice kit with a well thought out design. It was a fun build that took a few weeks to do. Not bad for Applebarrel acrylics and paintbrushes I think! Enjoy the pics.

Thanks guys. There are no Death Star models sadly, just the craptastic version Ertl did years ago. There are some Super Star Destroyers though. A frind of mine is mastering a new version that will debut at this years Wonderfest in Louisville KY this month. The models above are in my office at work. I'll bring them home tomorrow and grab some closer pics for you MCM.

One of my favorite cars! You did a great job on this. I also applaud you for not putting Ferrari badges on it, sadly like so many 1/1 cars had done to them.

That sucks for Lamborghini. Good video though. Fiero fires were over rated though. Traced back to an oil pan change in size on the '84 model year Fiero. They made a running change to a larger oil pan but failed to add more oil to the engine to compensate. Most 84's left the factory a quart low on oil. My '86 has never had a fire!

Last picture above shows all three ships together. Have to get some better pics. Here is a shot where I have added the 1/2256 Falcon, just behind the Medical Frigate. These sit in front of the 1/2256 Star Destroyer, still a WIP.Eventually, they will all share the same base as they are all in scale to each other.
-
I have more pics of it. I'll throw some up over there. Thanks for the heads up. Still exploring the site, LoL.

Here are some resin 1/2256 SW ships I did. These were made by Anigrand and are no longer available. Sad because the castings are near perfect. Here we have the Medical Frigate, Tantive IV, and the Tyderium Shuttle. These ships are only a few inches long. The tri-wing shuttle is a resin body with photoetched wings and will fit on your finger nail with room to spare. As always, enjoy the pics.
