Moebius 1964 Mercury Comet Pro Touring

It will be the version you didn't want, and the moderators may need to be called in. 😁 (I'll probably get both, so it doesn't matter to me). -
'71-77, '78 Dodge Vans...
64Comet404 replied to ClassicDarts's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Canuck3D Model Parts has a set to convert the latest issues of the Dodge van into the 1986-93 version. I may have to get one so I can build the service van I used to drive when I was younger. https://www.canuck3d.ca/mopar.php Note: Deliveries to the USA have been suspended until people figure out what is happening, so shipping could take a while... -
Atlantis releases Ex Revell 1/32 scale 56 Buick.

I use the Bob Smith de-bonder. It can discolour polystyrene, so I try to keep from flooding the area. If the model is heavily glued, I would attempt to dismantle the kit as far as you can before attempting, and grind away as much of the dried glue as you can. -

If the glue joints are not too thick, I have found the de-bonder fo CA glues does a good job of breaking the old glue joints. -

I sold my customizing kit years ago, but from memory the most that has been changed is the grille. The rest of the kit was changed with fins and other add-on bodywork. -

Revell (Monogram) 1/24th scale, 1985 Pontiac Fiero
64Comet404 replied to Luc Janssens's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I remember cases like this being described in a book I read on the American automotive industry of the late 20th Century. The case was made that firms like GM and Chrysler had been run by groups where the majority of executives had either graduated from GMI or from some Midwestern football school. Consequently, the idea of 'everyone wants big cars' and 'innovation doesn't sell' kept being promoted, usually to the detriment of the corporations. Ford didn't seem to have these issues, or not to the same extent, which probably explains why Ford was more innovative during those years (if Tim Boyd hasn't signed an NDA, I would love to hear his take on the subject...) I'm happy to see a Fiero which hasn't been moulded in red, and I like the lack of chrome on the trees. I almost bought a 1:1 version when I was a kid, but it had a horrible clutch cable adjustment issues, and was concerned about servicing and reliability problems. -

I've often wondered if it was a single reservoir system on this Comet when things went down... -

I'm hoping this gets fixed for the '64 Comet, because there are differences between the inner fenders of the '64-65 and the '66-up cars. The main one, which Moebius carried over to the '65 Comet, was the location of the battery (the earlier cars have them mounted width-wise, while the later cars have them mounted lengthwise). -
Moebius 1/25 1964 Mercury Comet K-code
64Comet404 replied to Justin Porter's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I didn't find that information out for years after I had bought my K-Code Comet. I kept trying to figure out why someone would have ordered a 271-horse 289 with a 3-speed column-shift and a 3.25:1 open axle! -

Oh, I may have to get one...or two...or a case! 😜 -
These wheels seem to be from a different mold than the old Otaki/Doyousha rims. I will be looking for a few more sets for the stash.
