  1. I finally got this one finished. The paint was a real hassle, and its been painted about 3 times now and is fairly satisfactory, but not perfect. The body was sectioned and the hood pancaked, frame is from a Taledega NASCAR car, with 427 engine, all wiring, plumbing and brake lines. I scratchbuilt the custom air cleaner and dual exhaust with aluminum tips. It has 4 wheel disc brakes inside chrome reverse rims on Goodyear rubber. Thanks for looking.
  2. Looking good Brian. I'll keep watching this one.
  3. That is one fine, but brutal looking beast Marshall. Good work so far.
  4. Any more progress Brian? I'm really anxious to see what you do to this one.
  5. Very nice work indeed. My next project is an old Indy Roadster, so your Offy engine details will come in handy!
  6. Thanks Steve. Yes, the windshield was already tinted.
  7. I finished this one today. Its a fairly good kit, with reasonable detail. I added engine wiring, fuel lines, brake lines and a 5 point safety harness. Paint is Duplicolor Dark Blue and Duplicolor White, with several coats of clearcoat over the decals. Thanks for looking.
  8. Its nice to see some more progress on this Art. Is this superceding the Huomobile?
  9. Very nice Brian. Some of the old Indy car kits are pretty good, and they show up regularly on e-bay for basically peanuts.
  10. Holy Smokes Darin, looks like someone gave it a bath in lacquer thinner! You have definitely got your work cut out for you on this one.
  11. Very cool John. Nice work indeed.
  12. This is a project I started last week. Its the Monogram Valvoline March Indy car. Overall not a bad kit, with some really good detail in places, but some parts of the engine are quite poor (however they hardly show). Thanks for looking.
  13. This place may have something that you're looking for. http://www.ncphobbies.com/models.html
  14. It depends on what year Cadillac Ray. Ones from the '50's and '60's were often blue. Bill
  15. Very nice indeed Mike. I can't wait to see more. Bill
  16. You must be very proud Bobby, not only with the fine son you have but also with his obviously great modelling talents. Congratulations to both of you.
  17. I got this finished today. It was an interesting build and I managed to learn a bit about these tiny, fast little cars. The kit was very good, well molded with only minimal clean-up required, and everything fit well. The instructions were quite good. I built this basically box stock, except for engine detailing, seatbelts and some other lines and fittings. The green paint is Tamiya Racing Green left over from my Lotus 25 project. It looks fairly close to the proper colour. The only thing left to do is clearcoat and/or Future once the decals a totally dry. Hope you like it, and thanks for looking. Bill
  18. Bob: You're right...a typo on my part....too much adrenalin rush I guess! I've seen some of the reviews etc and yes it looks like it can be a daunting kit. I look forward to additional tips from the folks here as I get into this one.
  19. I just won the bidding for an Accurate Miniatures McLaren M8B (1/20 scale) for $18.00. Feeling pretty happy right about now!
  20. I've made a bit more progress, with all the suspension now in place. Hopefully today I'll get the brake line hooked up, as well as the fuel tank and lines and the headers. Thanks for looking.
  21. A very well done, eclectic group of vehicles there Mark. Very nice indeed.
  22. Looks like a great project Darin. Good idea with the Lambo engine. Are you going with the gull-wing doors also?
  23. As Brian noted, Castrol Super Clean is very effective, as is brake fluid. In my opinion, those 2 are more effective than oven cleaner (and smell better also). I've never tried it, but apparently 90% rubbing alcohol will remove some of the more difficult Tamiya paints.
