  1. That is cool. Makes me want to start my 20 Mule Team kit.

Thanks Brian! They are available on e-bay for outrageous prices! Here are some other pics that I took while the weather was co-operating today. Hope you like them.
  3. Thanks Brian. I've added a couple of more pics to the "Under Glass" thread.
  4. Terrific build Criag, along with some very helpful hints for building one in the future.

Here's a couple of pics of the finished build. To recap, its a 1/12 Tamiya kit and, like most of their kits, this one is superb and a pleasure to build.
  6. What a beautiful build. Thanks for posting it Jeff, and well done Marcos!
  7. Thanks so much for the kind comments. I finished it up last night. Here is the final product ready for the display cabinet. Thanks for watching this one come together. I'll repost a couple of pics in the "Under Glass" section just to close this off.
  8. I'll jump in with my experience, namely that most paints except the hottest lacquers will not affect Future.
  9. Looking great so far Bill, and some useful tips as well. I agree with the others that its crying out for stripes!
  10. Bob...Future is an acrylic finish, not wax. It sticks to most everything, and most everything sticks to it, especially paint (you should see how well overspray sticks to the Futured tiles in my workshop!)
  11. I love F-1 cars. I'll be watching your progress with great interest.
  12. Thanks Bill....being retired affords me lots of time for my hobbies!
  13. Thanks again for your positive comments guys...very much appreciated. Paint, clear and decals are done, and all the body panels fit reasonably well. Still a bunch of little things to do, plus a final coat of Future, before it goes on the shelf. Thanks for looking.
  14. I'm glad to see this one back on the workbench Art. I'm looking forward to watching you work your magic with it. Then I want to see the Hupmobile!
  15. WOW! Unbelievable detail. You must have lots of patience and an incredibly steady hand. I really want to see more of this one.

Another tip you might be able to use....rather than clearcoat over silver or chrome paint, which will cause it to dull and look like aluminum, coat it with Future. It will stay much shinier and can be handled without rubbing off or dulling.
  17. Thanks Brian. I got the engine mounted and the rear suspension done. Still lots of little fiddley stuff to do but its coming along.
  18. Thanks for the kind comments guys. I've been plugging away on this, and have most of the tub and rear suspension done.
  19. Looks great...nice change of pace for sure. The machining is excellent.
  20. Too bad about the first paint job Ken, but the Cobalt blue sure looks good to me on that car. Nice work. You're gonna get hooked on these cars if you're not careful!
  21. Looks yummy Daryl. I love Indy cars, so lets see some more pics!
  22. Beautiful work Tom. Looks super!
  23. If we bug him enough he'll dig it out of the closet!
  24. A little update. The body parts are all painted and cleared, and so now its time to start on the cockpit area. I should have some more pics tomorrow.
  25. For the most part, the fit is quite good, but there are a few parts with a bit of a warp in them, particularly the tops of the doors. Hopefully it be ok with a bit of persuasion.
