People used to do this in 1:1 scale here. When Mercedes Benz introduced the six cylinder OM-321 engine on their 1111 series trucks here, someone found out one could actually bolt the head to a Chevrolet 261 six. Of course, the final product was not a long lasting engine, but the craze of the oil crisis make many Chevrolet pickup truck owners to do such a thing. It was called a "misto quente".

This one brings a lot of memories. Built one too. around 25 years ago. It was badly damaged during a move, and it sat in pieces in a box for three years until I decided to fix it the best I could. Still have it. One of the three Chrysler products I ever build.

Amazing model. Not only the color is great, but the vinyl top looks just right.

WOW!!! Fantastic!!! Almost makes me to actually like Mopars. Almost.

I really need one of those kits. If they weren't so darn hard to find here... '48 Chevy, looks almost stock, and has a hot rodded Stovebolt... I have a '48 Ford that looks almost stock, and has a hot rodded 239 V8... For pinks? Fords e Aliana 007 copy by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr

Hello from Portugal
Lovefordgalaxie replied to Tiago Malafaya's topic in Welcome! Introduce Yourself
Bem vindo Tiago. Muita gente boa nesse forum, e muitos modelistas talentosos. -
Here, police also drove some of those, along with VW Bugs. When one came after my father, to remain him he was too fast, and ask for a little monetary compensation to forget it, he usually just pressed the accelerator pedal a little more, and let the V8 under the Galaxie's hood do the rest. I remember well we cruising at about 160 km/h in a desert two lane blacktop in the state of Minas Gerais (where my grandmother lived) and a police Bug fading fast behind... It only worked on roads where there were no police control posts in the next say 60 kilometers.

Brush painted.

You nailed what he does. Even the Humbrol enamel paint. I had zero success on brush painting anything glossy larger than a radiator, or a engine block. Cats hair? That's inevitable. I invited Michael to join our forum. -

Being a member here for quite a while, I know not all are into facebook, VK, and similar "social media" sites. I'm into facebook, and there, in a lot of model car groups. Once in a while something really cool shows up. This week I was looking at the posts of the Revell and Monogram model cars group, and found the work done by Michael Ejs Bredgaard, from Denmark. He does the very best brush painting on model cars bodies I ever saw. Take a look:

WOW!!!!! That's so sweet I may get diabetes. You just made me change my mind about the Revell '55 Steve. I didn't like the separate side trim stuff, but you proved me wrong. I have to get one '55, as it's the only tri five Chevrolet I don't have built yet (have only a '55 Chevrolet step-side pickup). When '50s Chevrolets are concerned, the '56 is my favorite. Always thought to be odd only having the not that accurate Monogram kit to build a '56 Bel Air two door hardtop. -
WOW!! At last a proper '32 Ford!!
-
NASCAR is not my thing, but that doesn't mean they won't release eventually a kit that is. Will keep an eye on them.

By the description alone, I imagined a '58 Plymouth like that would be ugly as hel. Boy was I wrong. It looks bad, yes, but in a good way!! Something death should drive in Supernatural.

Best build of this kit I ever saw. Amazing!! -
Very sharp looking pony. Nice color too.

Can't believe it's being 7 years. It's being a joy to watch the cars being built. This one being what you call low detail, I say: Brace yourselves for the next one!! I would be completely satisfied with the low detail.

Thanks guys!!

Thanks Steve!! Very appreciated.

That's so sweet. Loved the great quality of the entire build. The kit is old, but sure one of the nicest of the day. Built the "Early Iron" edition from Monogram, the one molded in yellow. Not a real Blue Bandito, but the same basic kit. I replaced the brand C engine with a Mercury V8 tough.

WOW, great work here!! Loved the '48 Chevy, and the '53 Ford.
