AMT 1956 Ford Vicky kit: 75 Reais. Automotive paint, reducer, modeling paints, household foil, brushes, Tamiya tape, Revell glue, Loctite super glue, etc: 60 Reais. Having the guy that inspired your builds since forever praising one of them: PRICELESS!!!

Thanks again gents!! Thank you!! Well, technically it's not box stock, if you consider the licence plate decals were not provided by AMT. I print my own, as I use Brazilian plates to pretend the car is mine

AMT 56 Ford Victoria - 26 year old build
Lovefordgalaxie replied to Dave Darby's topic in Model Cars
She's a beauty!!! Also loved your work for the box art of the '57 Ford. That red a black beauty inspired me more than I can say in words. My very first foil job was on a '64 Impala, that was also the very first model I painted with a rattle can. Before that I used to ruin them with a brush... It was circa 1990/1991... I have to dig it up someday. It's inside it's box somewhere in my stash. -
Thanks again guys!! The paint I used is Automotive synthetic enamel, basically the same stuff Ford used to paint the real thing. The foil is homemade. I make it myself with household aluminum foil and gold leaf bond. I'm saving a lot of money, and having way better results. BMF was getting full of orange peel, and it was NOT on the car paint, it was the foil. Once I started to use my own foil again (that's how I started foiling back when the dinosaurs walked the Earth) the problem vanished.

Thanks a lot guys. If you want to see the making of, I have a series of YouTube videos on the build process. Here is the first one: https://youtu.be/aEi4j4KOKF8

Hi Guys. Finished my first car of 2016. It's a AMT 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria. The kit fought me quite a bit, as the body was full of sink marks, being the most noticeable ones on the fins, near the taillights, and around the doors. Once that was fixed, it went together more or less without issue. My chrome parts were a bit to the yellow side, but since I just hate using paint to simulate bright metal, I just left them as they were. The body was painted with automotive synthetic enamel to emulate Ford's Raven Black. The foil is all home made with aluminum foil, and most of the detailing was done with Testors acrylics. The kit has some deviations from 100% stock, but that is only noticed if you are really into Fords. Fixing those issues is not very hard, but to tell you guys the truth, I'm into building those things for fun, and if it starts to become a burden there is no fun anymore, so I built it box stock, without doing any correction or improvement, just painting the parts AMT provides and putting them together. yep, I'm lazy. Anyways, here are some pictures of the mighty '56 Ford, and I hope you guys like it!! 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria. by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria. by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria. by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria. by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria. by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria. by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria. by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria. by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria. by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria. by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria. by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria. by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr

Yes, they were Plexiglas, and were treated with a tint that Ford said to block and absurd amount of UV light, what didn't happen, and those cars were like a greenhouse under the sun. By the way, this build is so awesome, that inspired me to build my old AMT '56 that was in the stash for years still sealed. Will post her soon, as I'm waiting for a little sun to take outside pictures. Yeah, you are guilty, hope you think about what you have done

Yep, this one looks great. Not to radical, and with tasty paint.

I really don't know what to say. I guess Thank You is not quite enough, but then Thank You again!! I'm really curious to see your trucks. Even tough they are not all bone stock, still love to see a cool build of this kit. Thank you!! The wood on the bed is contact paper. I just cut it and glued it on the bed. Muito obrigado!!

Thanks again gents!! Now i'm going to be INSUPPORTABLE for a couple of days... Great 2016 to you all, with high hopes nobody finds a cure for the disease we have.
-
Thanks again guys!! Hopefully I'll build at least the same next year. I really miss building when I don't have time to. Keep day dreaming about what colors to use on what kit... I must be sick or something;)

Time for the final inspection !! 2015 build from Mangodart
Lovefordgalaxie replied to mangodart's topic in Model Cars
They are all super nice. Specially that '66 Galaxie 7 Litre convertible... That's a sweetheart. -
Cool!! How much on the '64 Chevy? is the engine good? New tires and paint I can see.
-
Great stuff!! You got me with that super sweet '37 Ford!!! Awesome work.
-
Great models. Loved the '29 Ford.
-
They look great!! Loved that '14 Raptor. Just saw one in person and loved the truck. Those are hard to come by here as Ford doesn't import them.
-
WOW, that '65 Custom is just great. I'm converting a '66 body to four door sedan, but it will take a while still.
-
WOW!!!!!!!

I'm very biased to say something on this build as I really love this kit, and lost count on how many I built... I have a ton of reference pictures of 1:1 scale 100 points stock Bel Air Coupes if you want. They show the primer color on the floor, where the car was undercoated and some factory markings.

Blumenau was where I went to College at, from 1996 to 2001. Yes, you can say there are a LOT of U.S. cars here. Take a look on the albums of my Flickr page for some car shows I went to. https://www.flickr.com/photos/lovefordgalaxie/albums

Thanks you all for the nice comments!!! Will be painting the first for 2016 still this week. It's a 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria, from the AMT kit.
