  1. Thanks a lot for your support and kindness my friends!! The kind of comments you posted, coming from builders like you guys, means a lot to me. Thanks again!!!
  2. Hey hey!! Super cool car!! Has the correct amount of "fun" under the hood, but without excess. Not to mention the color is just right. Yep, really loved this one!!

  6. From the factory, the car would come with no mirror. The dealers had them as accessories. Ford offered a official FoMoCo accessory in form of a rectangular, fender mounted mirror, much alike the mirror on the Inca Gold and Colonial White Vicky on your second picture. The AMT 1963 Galaxie kit came with a pair of rectangular mirrors that are close enough to the Ford accessory part. Take a look: 1957 Fairlane Line Brochure by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr

  8. Just finished painting 8 tires for my future builds. I use to do it when I get a new bottle of acrylic white. Just Painted by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr Just Painted by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr
  9. Pacen, the ideal thing is to make a test. Usually I use Testors flat white acrylic, and when the bottle is brand new I don't new to thin it at all. The paint has to have the consistency of milk. If you need to thin it down a bit, use some window cleaner. You have to lay down very thin misty coats untill the black is all covered, using the minimum of paint to do so, this way all the lettering is preserved.
  10. Thanks guys. Decided to give it a try after reading the Photoshop tutorials from Harry. I had the basics of the prgram, as I had being using it to modify cars into wagons, of fixing an old picture, but had never tried a full illustration before.

  12. I didn't know how I missed this one, but holy shait, what a great model!!! Saying it's very real is quite and understatement. It's a masterpiece for sure, great job!!!
  13. Well, I build models for fun, and for me having fun is building what you really love. In my case, what I really love since I was a small kid in short pants are Ford cars, so, I build them way more than any other thing, after all, modeling is a work of love. Even having said that, once in a while I do build something non Ford, and those are mostly Chevrolet cars. I just built one Buick, a '62 Electra deuce and a quarter. 1962 Buick Electra 225 by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr 1962 Buick Electra 225 by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr 1962 Buick Electra 225 by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr 1962 Buick Electra 225 by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr 1962 Buick Electra 225 by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr She's all box stock i'm afraid.
  14. Batman, your car was found. Contact Harry for details.
  15. I have a old magazine with some pictures of a red one. That car had the rearview mirrors inside that carenage on the hood, even tough some of them had actual cameras there, transmitting images to a small screen on the dash. What was kind of odd, and one could fit a proper technicolor camera on that hood "eyebrows". Other than that detail, the car is not that ugly. Want to see something really ugly, google Gurgel X-15. That thing is ugly at square.
  16. Thanks again folks!!
  17. VERY COOL, AND WELL DONE.
  18. F Code engine: 1957 Ford Custom Tudor (indoor pictures) by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr How to build it? Easy, just steal the parts from the Fireball Roberts '57 Ford kit!!! Bad part, can't build the Fireball kit anymore... Good part: Lot's of extra parts!!!
  19. Yes!! But I wanted to save it for my '56 Ford build that will happen soon

  21. This picture is of a factory stock E-Code Engine: Factory stock E-Code Ford V8 for 1957 by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr Here are the factory dual quad intake and extra carburetors, among the "drag" parts on the Revell kit: Picture Review: Revell 1957 Ford Custom Tudor. by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr That smal air filter, part 150, just above the muffler, is one of the Mercury style single carb air filter provided on the kit Picture Review: Revell 1957 Ford Custom Tudor. by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr By this shot of the instructions, you guys will notice that the "drag" engine is just a E-Code with Mercury style air filters. 22. Thanks again my friends!! I really love the read your feedback. The Revell kit has among it's particularities, both good and bad, almost all the stuff to build a factory E-Code, that is indeed a dual quad carburetor 312 Y-Block. Why did I say "almost"? Well, that's because they just didn't tool the factory air cleaner... They did it for the single four barrel engine, but not for the dual quad, even tough all other parts are present in the kit, like the fuel line, double quad intake, and the extra carburetors. Instead of tooling the factory dual quad air filter, Revell provides the kit with two Mercury style small individual air filters for each carburetor, what is not correct for a Ford car. To go around this problem you have two ways: Taking a similar to stock air filter from the AMT 1965 Ford Victoria kit, or to scratchbuild a correct part. Since the filter from the AMT kit I have I'm planning on using on my '56 when I build it, I scartchbuilt the correct part for the '57 Ford out of epoxy putty, and modifying the two single carb air filters provided with the kit. For doing that I used my Dremel as a lathe to cut the still not fully hardened epoxy putty into something that would look like the factory air filter, then, also using the Dremel, I rounded and shortened the Mercury style air filters into the proximate form needed to recreate the factory style dual quad filter. My home built part is not 100% accurate, but is very close to the correct part.
  23. A LOT better looking than the original thing.
  24. Thanks guys!! very appreciated!!! Thanks Harry!! On the paint, it's Gunmetal Gray, a factory color for the '57 Fords. The problem is the metallic part is not "in scale" as the paint itself is automotive, intended for repainting a 1:1 car, and kind of gives the model a too much metallic look. I gave a try on Tamiya gunmetal from the TS spray can, but it's too dark and too on the "graphite" side, quite different from the Ford color. So, I had a somewhat difficult choice on hand, and ended using the automotive paint. This is being a problem, even tough using real automotive paint gives the model a touch of the real car, it's not quite suited for a 1/25 scale car. Of course it only happens with metallics. And Harry, I was thinking of you when I installed not one, but two mirrors
  25. Loved it!! Also love Fiestas, great cars.
