Scale I Build

Found 6 results

  1. Hello ... a new baby. i thought it would be easier to build more modern forms, but then I added a lot of details ... 310 pieces in the end assembled, all scratchbuilt scale 1:20 in balsa wood
  2. Hello ... I thought to show some pictures of my ongoing project, a BMW 327 Roadster from 1939, guess not very famous in USA. Today I finished the body, not easy built, but as a first trial I am happy ...
  3. Hi ... I had these days the first "outing" with my models, in a classic car meeting in town. Was funny to see the people's reactions on the wooden scaled replicas Nice was also to meet a guy who restored a Ford Runabout of 1924 ... wonderful car. But here a couple of photos of my Tin Lizzy (which has nothing of "Tin" ), a Ford Model T Touring from 1908 ... Some burned parts, which I need to substitute, but still they give a kind of character to the seats ...
  4. Hello Back after some time. Finally could finish and make some photos of my last "creature" ... a Ford Raodster De Luxe from 1936. Scratchbuilt in Balsa, some plywood for stiffening the structure and make steering reliable. Can open doors and rumble seat ... Finishing: natural, scale 1:20 (length around 18 cm/7.1 inches). Hope you like it
  5. Hi... I am new to the Forum. I see a lot of assemblies with incredible details, that make me shy to show my things. Nevertheless, I would really like know what you think about car models in wood which are assembled in a similar way. Just the thickness and weakness of the material make some limitations ... Here some photos of one of my projects: a Ford Model A Coupe' Deluxe, 1930. Made entirely in Balsawood #1mm in scale 1:20 ... still struggling if I should finish it with a thin layer of natural olive oil. The model is made with lasercutter and can be reproduced. Assembling and finishing by hand... it gives each model a little different character (so far this is what I have seen until now, building some ...)
  6. I am Andreas and passioned about modelism, especially cars. But I am trying to build up a collection of cars - for now classic Ford models - in scale 1:20 made out of #1mm Balsawood (mainly). No idea if for real guru's of model car builders like you this is an option to appreciate, or just a funny alternative ... Will post some pics later and wait for your appreciate reaction ...
