cobraman Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 This "thing" started out as the AMT 62 Impala convertible. I cut the windshield off and filled the interior hole with sheet plastic and then some putty. (ok, lots of putty ) I used a Revell funny car frame that I had to shorten some. Tires and wheels as well as decals were from the parts box. Drilled the eight holes for injectors and cut 8 pieces of aluminum tubing. Rear and front spoiler were made from sheet plastic. Paint is Dark Cherry Pearl with the stripe done in Aztec Gold. This is a curbside and as such it does not have any engine or chassis detail. I think I was rushing a bit to get it done. I have kit I wanted for awhile coming and wanted to clear the bench. Seems tho it still won't be here for a week or two as it is coming from Japan. Comments always welcome pro or con. Thanks for looking.
bobthehobbyguy Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Looks nice. The cut down windscreen looks right.
atomicholiday Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Very cool concept! Not at all what I was expecting when I clicked on this. Nice!
Ramfins59 Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 That is definitely different Ray. Not what I was expecting either, but it looks cool.
slusher Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Good looking build Ray. i really like you kept the windshield..
wayne swayze Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Very cool! Would like to see a couple of outdoor shots sometime. Glad you kept the windshield...gives it a "going fast" look just sitting there!
W-409 Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 Great job Ray! I wondered what happened to this in the Drag Racing Models section, but I'm glad to see it finished as it looks this great! Nice work on the modifications for sure (I could not do that to a '62 Impala ) and I like the paint too. Nice work.
cobraman Posted March 28, 2015 Author Posted March 28, 2015 Thank you Niko. Hey, it's only plastic ! : )
