will69 Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Always liked the lines of this truck. Had one laying around for years and decided to do a complete restore.
will69 Posted April 4, 2015 Author Posted April 4, 2015 Thanks, I build a lot since I am retired. Need to invest in spraybooth and a new airbrush
Mopar - D Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 Very nice Ford. Spray booth and air brush will be a very good investment.
kilrathy10 Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 Nice work on this one, Buddy.....I've always liked this model....I've got one left that needs to be built.....Good job on the white paint....
hooknladderno1 Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 (edited) Great job on this Wil! You mentioned fit problems - can you tell us a little more about that? I bought a spray booth and LOVE it! The Artograph 1530 is great because of it's 30" width, it can handle most truck models! Prices are coming down on them and it came very well packaged. I too have one of these waiting to be built, probably as a fire service tanker/tender. Congrats on your retirement ans happy building! David Edited April 5, 2015 by hooknladderno1
will69 Posted April 5, 2015 Author Posted April 5, 2015 The biggest problem I had was getting the tilt f/e to line up. Had to make my own hinges out of plastistruct.
Nacho Z Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 That is a good looking truck! I think it looks good in white.
angelo7 Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 This one is really nice. Looks so clean and sharp. I myself am working on one of these but in 1/32 scale.
gatorincebu Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Will, Real nice looking Ford you built there. Isn't being retired wonderful? I retired 4 years ago may. Moved to the Philippines two years ago last December. I love it all. As for the spray booth. I say go for it. But I will stick to the rattle cans. but may also try to learn to use my airbrush! lol Be Well Gator

gatorincebu Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 THANKS. YEAH IT IS GREAT. ALL GOOD. ALCLAD IS COMING OUT IN SPRAY CANS. THAT WITH TESTORS LAC. REMEMBER BACK IN THE DAY Oh yes! And the tube glue that peole started sniffing. I started building models in like 61 or 62. Truck model in 1970. Don't have any of the car models, but I still have all my truck models. Remember Autoworld? Car kits for $1.49? And on and on!!! lol Sometimes it is nice to sit back and remember what it was like back in the Day!! Be Well Gator
will69 Posted April 14, 2015 Author Posted April 14, 2015 Yeah, that glue was a monster. It's a wonder I have any brain cells. Took forever to dry and enamel paints? FORGETABOUTIT 1.49 won't pay the tax on a kit now. lol. Be Well Pal /
