1959scudetto Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 I don't know if the original ever existed, but in the late 80's I resprayed my (then ERTL) DM600, swapped dump body, plow and salt spreader from amt's Ford and voilà (decals are also from the Ford snow-plow). Spare wheel is from Italeri.
Mopar - D Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Very nice built Mack DM 600. Mine came in the mail yesterday not sure how im going to build it. Did you have any issues with the build?
1959scudetto Posted April 9, 2015 Author Posted April 9, 2015 Very nice built Mack DM 600. Mine came in the mail yesterday not sure how im going to build it. Did you have any issues with the build? Dan, it's more than 25 years now, but as far as I can remember, there were no big issues as early ERTL kits went together very well. I don't know about the reissue, but my version had lots and lots of chrome parts, far more than a workhorse would ever have.
Mackvision Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Very nice work on the Mack! most DM's are vocational type trucks, dump, mixer, tank, wrecker, trash etc. Google "NYC Macks" for some great images and ideas for DM's........................................Mark
gatorincebu Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Helmut, Real nice job on that one. A very plausible model of what could have been back in the day. Be Well Gator
Fat Brian Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 One will be getting a dump bed and another a mixer, I might get a few more for maybe a crane truck or a removeable container truck.
kevjoh Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Thinking about fitting the Rex mixer to the DM600
Plastheniker Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Well done Helmut, the DM 600 looks good in any combination. Good to have the reissue.
doogie7046 Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 I used the Rex Mixer body and spliced in the longer Mack DM800 rails to my DM 600
guitarsam326 Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Nicely done! Your photography is just as good as your building!
1959scudetto Posted November 25, 2015 Author Posted November 25, 2015 I used the Rex Mixer body and spliced in the longer Mack DM800 rails to my DM 600 Looks great, Mike! I looked at the above pics thinking this was the truck you wanted to replicate, till I finally realised that this is the model that you have built !!!
gatorincebu Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Really a good looking build. And some awesome photography ! Nice work. Be Well Gator
doogie7046 Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Thanks guys. This was an original built up that I restored and I am happy to see that it was reissued. So many variations you can build with this kit.
