StevenGuthmiller Posted April 14, 2015 Author Posted April 14, 2015 I'll join in with the hallelujah chorus. I don't know how you and so many of our members can do such amazing work in 1/24-25. Thanks Skip! I agree, there is plenty of inspiration around here! Steve
Drake69 Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Yeah... there's not much more I can say that hasn't already been said here, except I could SWIM in that blue colored ocean you painted that car with. Incredible.
charlie8575 Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 I just got a pretty good deal on a rebuilder '59 convertible. Body was done decently, I might do some detail painting, paint the interior and call it done. I'm not looking forward to doing those little tiny strips of chrome on the top of the fins. Steve- love it. Great colors, and always a great build. Charlie Larkin

Try using some blue painters tape as a guide for trimming the BMF & it really goes quite well. Steve
Ace-Garageguy Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Wow, just doesnt seem fitting enough I must say , you are definitly the master of these old annuals Indeed. Great colors for it too. And from where I'm sitting, your BMF work looks just about flawless. Impressive and certainly inspirational.
edward smith Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Love the panel line work, something I've always looked at when seeing a really well and built model.
StevenGuthmiller Posted April 14, 2015 Author Posted April 14, 2015 Thank you all! This was one of those builds that I just wasn't sure how it was going to look in this color combo until final assembly. Even though I was apprehensive, I was happy with the final result. Steve
smellyfatdude Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Another vintage model turned masterpiece! Say, did you ever finish that ' 62 Galaxie vert?
Eric Macleod Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 It looks like you are on the set of Mad Men with this one. As others have said...stunning.
bogger44 Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 What a truly beautiful build. If I didn't know any better I'd say it's the real deal. Thanks for sharing this masterpiece with us!
StevenGuthmiller Posted April 15, 2015 Author Posted April 15, 2015 Thank you so much guys! All of the wonderful comments are pure motivation to make the next one even better! Steve
StevenGuthmiller Posted April 15, 2015 Author Posted April 15, 2015 Another vintage model turned masterpiece! Say, did you ever finish that ' 62 Galaxie vert? No, I have yet to finish it. I was less than happy with the paint job on that one. I may have to get more paint & shoot another coat or 2 on it. For some reason, I used an entire 1 oz. jar of paint on it & it still is not a uniform color. May have been a rare bad jar of paint from MCW. Steve
om617 Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 It looks fantastic! You have an great eye for color combinations that is for sure.
StevenGuthmiller Posted April 15, 2015 Author Posted April 15, 2015 It looks fantastic! You have an great eye for color combinations that is for sure. Thank you Tommy! Steve

Lunajammer Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Absolutely fab. The muted colors are striking and everything else looks flawless.
StevenGuthmiller Posted April 16, 2015 Author Posted April 16, 2015 Thanks guys! Ludwig, I'm pretty confident I will finish the '62 Sunliner @ some point. Just need to work out the paint issues.....or just learn to live with it. Steve
StevenGuthmiller Posted April 17, 2015 Author Posted April 17, 2015 Wow, that is stunning! Very cool! Thanks Steve! Steve
The Modeling Hermit Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Steve, I'm wondering if you might have a shrink ray and right now somebody is out looking for their 1:1 car. LOL That is a beautiful work of art.
StevenGuthmiller Posted April 17, 2015 Author Posted April 17, 2015 Thanks so much guys! If I had a shrink ray Doug, it would be back to normal size & sitting in my garage right now! Steve
Sixties Sam Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 I saw this 59 Bonneville convert in a local car show a few years ago. It's huge!
