StevenGuthmiller Posted May 29, 2015 Author Posted May 29, 2015 She's a beauty!,you know Steve every time I see your beautiful work on this site I am so jealous keep up the awesome work SG. Shaun That's very kind of you Shaun! I'll feel a lot better when the paint work on the interior is done. I'm going to force myself to get some more done on it tonight! Steve
Sixties Sam Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Wow! Great paint and foil work! The door, hood, and trunk lines look realistic, too. Nice! Sam
StevenGuthmiller Posted May 29, 2015 Author Posted May 29, 2015 Wow! Great paint and foil work! The door, hood, and trunk lines look realistic, too. Nice! Sam Thanks Sam! I always seem to get the panel lines a little darker than I would like them. I use a darker shade of the body color, or close to it, for the lines, but I wind up not taking "shadow" into account when I mix the paint. But, as my father used to say, "Good enough for the girls that I go with". Steve
426-Hemi Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 I love these old Mopars.......... I got a single '57 300. but I want yet to get a '58 Satellite, and anything else Mopar in the 50's..... NICE work!
StevenGuthmiller Posted May 29, 2015 Author Posted May 29, 2015 Thanks John! Yeah, the Mopars from the 50s are woefully under represented today in the kit world. We have AMT to thank for the '57 300 & the '58 Plymouth, & now Mobius has given us the '55-'56 Chrysler 300s. That's about it! Don't you think it's about time Revell gave us a 50s Mopar? My vote is for a '55 Belvedere or a '56 Desoto! Steve
oldscool Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 I don't comment much on your work because every time I see one of your models I am just speechless. Another masterpiece in the works.

StevenGuthmiller Posted May 30, 2015 Author Posted May 30, 2015 Wish someone would,,,for me a 55 or 56 Imperial would be WAY up on my to do list I would think that there could be a possibility of that. If Mobius wanted to play the '55-'56 Chrysler kits to the hilt, We could see a lot of great stuff that could use a lot of the basic parts from those kits. I'm seeing a '55-'56 New Yorker, Desoto & Imperial, all able to utilize a lot of the same parts as the 300s. How about it Mobius? Steve
StevenGuthmiller Posted June 1, 2015 Author Posted June 1, 2015 (edited) Just a couple more interior shots. Nothing real ground breaking, but I finally got the upholstery painting done, clear coated the dash & steering wheel, & shot the tub & dash pad with some pearl. Hopefully tomorrow night I can start foiling, detailing & carpeting. Steve Edited June 1, 2015 by StevenGuthmiller
horsepower Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Gonna give my age away, but I had a teacher when I was in the fourth grade that had a black '59 with silver interior. He always had it polished like a mirror.
10thumbs Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Gonna give my age away, but I had a teacher when I was in the fourth grade that had a black '59 with silver interior. He always had it polished like a mirror. Yep. The neighbor I wrote about earlier on this thread, I remember the day he drove it home for the first time, brand new! I looked at my brother, he looked and me and we both thought he just lost his mind! LOL. His former cars were not as flashy, and a lot older! Steven, sharp looking interior. Michael
426-Hemi Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 I agree on the 50's Mopars HECK YES! If I had a choice, I'd take a '58 Dodge Coronet.....-I'd LOVE to see one done!!!! Dump a say, 331 Hemi it and call it "good"..... Hopefully Revell is reading this! I'd take anything more in 50's Mopar then what we currently got. even some mid to late 40's be nice too! TRUCKS from Dodge in the 60's be EVEN better!
426-Hemi Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 WOW. thats all I got What ya mean "Thats all I got"????????
gtx6970 Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 What ya mean "Thats all I got"???????? WOW , just doesnt seem to be enough . This one is over the top
StevenGuthmiller Posted June 2, 2015 Author Posted June 2, 2015 Thank you guys! The resin interior isn't the best example ever, but it's okay. It's probably a 20 year old Modelhaus tub, & back then he evidently hadn't worked out the "pin hole" problem completely. Steve
StevenGuthmiller Posted June 2, 2015 Author Posted June 2, 2015 Got a little detailing done on the interior bucket tonight. My eyes are going a little buggy from foiling all of those little buckles! Steve
Foxer Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 That interior is spectacular .. the masking made it so subtle but an eye popper at the same time!
om617 Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 (edited) Is looking really good. As for post nr 85,i did see a 56 Desoto 2d ht with continetal kit this weekend,so low and sleek compared to the GM/Ford cars of the same year. It was white and pink,in other words screaming for some more classy colors Edited June 2, 2015 by om617
John Goschke Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Yeah, those buckles are fun to do aren't they! Looks great, Steve!
