'70 Grande Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 BTD, I'd like some info on how you got that thread, fender welting to look so good. Is it held-down using super-glue or some other adhesive? By the way; an excellent build; looking forward to your future-postings here... welcome!
BigTallDad Posted May 8, 2015 Author Posted May 8, 2015 Regarding the welting, I just (a few minutes ago) added a tutorial called "Another use for thread" I'm still learning how to function on this site and hope this link will take you there directly. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=101745
Monty Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 This may have been your first post, but after seeing how well this build turned out, I hope there will be many more. Welcome to our board!

Sixties Sam Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Beautiful build! Nice job on the woodwork, and the open cowl vent is a nice touch. Great work! Sam
Ace-Garageguy Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Great idea, fine execution. I remember you well from over there, Welcome.
BigTallDad Posted May 11, 2015 Author Posted May 11, 2015 Great idea, fine execution. I remember you well from over there, Welcome. Thanks Ace, for the compliment on my '40, and it's nice to be on an adult forum once again.
DaveM Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Nice looking model and welcome. We act like adults around new members I just read your thread tutorial and I will be trying that on a couple of replica stock builds soon. I might use fly tying silk to slightly reduce the texture, but I love the idea. I hope to see many more of you models and tips here. Again, Welcome! Dave
