Dyno Davo Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 As a kid I had one of the original Hot Wheels redline diecasts which I played with till it was just plain worn out. So as part of my show rod theme of builds this year it was on the list to do. Like a lot of the show rods of that era there are many versions so it's hard to overly authentic. My aim was to enhance the kit to be a better representation of the real car when the Ford engine was shoe-horned in. Paint is ModelMaster metallic red with an overlay of candy red with gold flake. The body insert sides were heavily re-worked and painted pearl white. New exhaust side pipes were fashioned from a piece of car antenna. The engine is wired and pulleys enhanced with a separate fan belt. Interior was painted in vinyl spray white and then the black panels hand painted.
