Porscheman Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 This is one of the models that my friend John gave me when he cleaned out his house. John originally painted this Testors copper enamel. I stripped it in Purple Power and painted it Testors Honderous Maroon Lacquer and Wet Look Clear top coat. The interior was done with Tamiya's Primer White with Maroon carpet. I tinted the glass with Tamiya's clear blue and added BMF Thanks for looking and let know what you think. Al
Tonioseven Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 I think it looks great!! The pictures could be a tad larger but the model itself looks great!! I have one to build but I have no idea of what color to paint it. Terrific work!!!
GrumpyGrowly Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Great paint job, color deep red with the blue tinted windows is great.
426-Hemi Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 NICE work on that ole 300!!!!!!!!! The paint, you made the windows look awesome with the slight blue tint to them! NICE work...... any engine pictures or is this a "curbside" model? The hood fits so well its difficult to tell if it opens or not!
cobraman Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Another great looking model Al. You do like those barges don't you ? : )
johnbuzzed Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 "Nice, nice, very nice." I do like it; the color combination is great and I must remember that I have one of those kits on waiting-to-be-built list.
bismarck Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Beautiful build!! I love the lines of these old cars. They had style.
peekay Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Excellent job on an old favourite and looking beautiful in that red!
StevenGuthmiller Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Fantastic Al!! I actually owned a 1:1 '67 300 & I have the '67 & '68 kits to build someday. Come to think of it I have a '68 X-EL convertible promo as well. My '67 was almost exactly the same color with a black vinyl top & interior, so yeah.....I've got a bit of a soft spot for this body style. Terrific work Al! Steve
Porscheman Posted May 20, 2015 Author Posted May 20, 2015 Thanks everyone for the nice comments. This model has an engine, but it was build by my friend and it didn't come out very good, so I glued the hood closed. I posted a 67 300 awhile back that I was going to restore, but the previous owner used sooo much glue, that when I tried to take it apart it shattered. So I was so happy when John gave me this one last Wednesday. Al
vintagercr Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Al, I love the color! Now I need to get working on mine.
Sixties Sam Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Great old Mopar! Nice work on the resto! Good color choice, and BMF work! Sam
