Was that hardtop in the drag version of the Monogram/Revell kit?

Did anyone ever make it in resin for the AMT 260 Cobra? (I don't mean the custom hardtop that comes in most issues of the kit.)

The box art has one picture of the built kit with the top, whether it's in the box or not I'm not sure.

I have the older re release of the AMT 289 Cobra... thought about making it in to one of these. Also have the Baldwin Motion 427 Cobra... considered making it one as well... but I robbed it of too many parts. I need some rear wheels to it.

Yes, the hardtop on the Revellogram box art is included in that Motion kit.

That's a cool article. Just as a note I live in Longmont not to far from Gunbarrel or Boulder where the Shelby museum is, and I also work for the Ford dealership down the street from the 2 brothers shop that does all the fixing, maintaining of all the Shelby's at the museum. They will come down to see if NOS parts are still available and sometimes will bring a car with them. Got a ride in an original cobra and they told me it could go from 0 to 60 and back to 0 in like 4 seconds or something crazy like that. I'll see the shelby trailer probably once a week at their shop. So reading that story and getting to see it in the museum is pretty cool!!

Thanks for the post Marshall. I have always loved the Drag-in-Snake Cobras

You're welcome Len. I never knew the car exsisted until now, and it was a very well written article. All the details of what the owner did to make it a great race car was a facinating read.

I have never seen an original Drag Cobra come up for auction at either Mecum or Barrett Jackson. I wonder what $$$ would buy one.

Put me down for the correct hardtop for one of these.

By the way the color for the Castlow & Larson cars is House of Kolors F21 Fuschia Dry Flakes over black.
