Shelby 427 1965 Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 (edited) Finally, posting something in Under Glass for the first time in what seems like forever... Well as anyone would know that has read my WIP, I obtained a big pile of mustang parts and 3 bodies, with the hopes of making two models out of it... Here is one of the models, and yes it has some parts missing, but I had to do my best with what I had. Colour is Ford Colorado Red. Fujimi Ford GT40 wheels, with front tyres from the parts box. Engine was wired and plumbed, and some rusting was added around various trims. Custom made aluminium side pipes. Decals from the decal box. Hand written windscreen letters and white letter tyres. Believe it or not, I don't even really like mustangs but I love Shelby so this was a labour of love. (It even has mirrors. ) More can be found in my WIP thread. Feels good to post something finished again! Thanks for looking, all comments are much appreciated Edited May 29, 2015 by Shelby 427 1965
aurfalien Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Wow, I really really like the color combo. Very Ferrari-esque. And the wood rimed steering wheel is very cool. I've always been a fan of wood in sports cars. The yellow accents are a nice touch. I'm taking notes.
Shelby 427 1965 Posted May 29, 2015 Author Posted May 29, 2015 Thanks guys! The paint wasn't even intentional, I just looked through my stash to see which spray can had the most paint left.. turned out to be this one Though it could be seen as a warning to them there Ferraris that there's a Shelby in town... Yellow was for Mooneyes stuff.. I really must get a decal sheet full of Moon stickers because I love putting them on practically every build but I just don't have any.
slusher Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Very sharp. Love the red and gold wheels. Fine work on this....
Snake45 Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 I like this a lot! I've been working on something kinda similar, but in green. Yours tells me I'm definitely on the right track! Well done and model on!
Shelby 427 1965 Posted May 30, 2015 Author Posted May 30, 2015 Thanks everyone, very much appreciated
