Lovefordgalaxie Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Built this '57 Custom Tudor as a factory E-Code car. Nice sleeper color, gunmetal gray, and just a little stance adjustment (read it as a little bit lowered) Hope you guys like it 1957 Ford Custom Tudor by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr 1957 Ford Custom Tudor by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr 1957 Ford Custom Tudor by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr 1957 Ford Custom Tudor by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr 1957 Ford Custom Tudor E Code by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr 1957 Ford Custom Tudor E Code by Túlio Lazzaroni, on Flickr
Harry P. Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Another beauty... but i think the metallic paint wasn't the way to go. I would have gone with a solid gray enamel, no metallic, just to keep it more "period correct." Just my opinion, of course. It's a beautiful model, superb craftsmanship as usual from you.

Thanks Harry!! On the paint, it's Gunmetal Gray, a factory color for the '57 Fords. The problem is the metallic part is not "in scale" as the paint itself is automotive, intended for repainting a 1:1 car, and kind of gives the model a too much metallic look. I gave a try on Tamiya gunmetal from the TS spray can, but it's too dark and too on the "graphite" side, quite different from the Ford color. So, I had a somewhat difficult choice on hand, and ended using the automotive paint. This is being a problem, even tough using real automotive paint gives the model a touch of the real car, it's not quite suited for a 1/25 scale car. Of course it only happens with metallics. And Harry, I was thinking of you when I installed not one, but two mirrors

horsepower Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Of if you go shopping with a color chip and search the fingernail polish aisle you can find a color that comes extremely close and in most cases the metallic is very close to scale.
moparfarmer Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Not a pretty car by no means..Meant to go..Didn't care about the color or how it looked as long as it was fast..Very nice rendition of that car..Well done and very clean..Will get lots of looks on the contest tables..Be proud of your work,be very proud..
ChrisBcritter Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Fine machine - just needs a trunkload of Mason jars full of white lightning!
Guest Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Not a fan of lowering, but she is a beauty none the less.
Mr Stock Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Stunning as always Tulio, you are the master of 57 Fords my man !
sigmaman Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Nicest build of one of those I've seen so far. Looks killer. I'm imagining it with a 450HP supercharged Orion Ford V8 in it.
1972coronet Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 POW!! That is NICE!!! In-scale or not, that colour is righteous !!
