Porscheman Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 I got this one from fellow modeller Dave Wood for restoring a 65 Mercury for him. I sanded all the scratches out and primed it with Tamiya's primer white and then I masked off the roof and painted the body Testors Phoenician Yellow spray lacquer and clear coated the body and roof with Testors Wet Look Clear. The interior was painted in a medium gold and the glass was tinted using 3 very light coats of Tamiya's Clear Blue. BMF was added and futher details were highlighted with The Detailer black wash. The body was then polished out with The Treatment Model Wax. I think it captuers that moms not to flashy rides of the day look. Thanks for looking. Al

peekay Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Wow, that is really nice! I've always had a soft spot for 60s compacts and have quite a few to do. But 3,641 built cars? Is that a typo?

Is that a typo? Thank you Mike and Peter. Peter, that is not a typo. It took 56 years, but I have 3,641 built models in my collection with about 2,600 on display and another 150 restorations in my works in progress, the rest are in storage. But all are insured. I'm disabled and I really enjoy bringing old models back from the dead. Al Edited June 16, 2015 by Porscheman
