Christopher J
Fantastic looking build. I absolutely love the scratch building that's been done. This is going to be a beautiful build once complete.
landman
Thanks guys. I'm back after a 6 day trip. Attended the Granby International car show. Lots of eye candy, about 2000 vehicles. Met some long lost cousins. Had a great time. Now to get back to that deck.

landman
Made up a subframe for the deck. Added an underride plate/bumper to the rear. Mocked up the assembly. Edited December 22, 2020 by landman
landman
I'm looking for suggestions for the lighting for this deck. Either aftermarket/resin lights or material to make some with red and amber.

Either aftermarket/resin lights or material to make some with red and amber. Found some at Plaskit (Dan Gailloux). After adding spacers & shims to make everything fit the truck frame and slide into the crane frame without interference, glued the subframe to the deck. It sits just a tad ass-high to allow for spring compression under load. This will be the general configuration. Ready to prime. landman
The bed in satin black. The 2 x 8 's in pecan stain The truck part is complete. Your extended wheelbase, V-10 powered Dodge L-700. As in most of my final assemblies, I manage to mess things up. No thanks to this particular kit with ill fitting doors, non existent holes to locate the mirror bracket supports (yet shown in the instructions) and several other shortcomings. All in all, a rather unpleasant undertaking. Added decals to the crane. I think I'll add some hoses as well. landman
I guess you could say I "plumbed" the crane.

Christopher J
Very nice build! For being a kit with I'll fitting parts and bad instructions you have made a hell of a build! The work on the truck and crane as well as detailing is outstanding. I love this build.

landman
Thanks guys. All it needs is the stakes, some decals, the tail & marker lights and we're done.
landman
Cut some timber for the rails. Cut & fitted the stakes. Started with the bottom boards then built up from there. I think it looks odd. But it'll have to do since it is a lot of work. Printed up some decals Edited December 22, 2020 by landman
