crazyrichard Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 weather is terrible atm over here , rain storm .. yesterday i saw a pic of a chevy patina truck and i loved it , i already did a stepside chevy but the clear on the white turned yellow and i already wanted to redo it in the future .. bored so i got it out and decided to give it some patina .. left it whole so took nothing apart ... original kit what i made back then (90% done) so untill now .... lowered it even more added a spotlight chrome front and rear bumper taillights hoodornament side mirror and gave it patina , first coat now so from this i might remove some to expose the white or add new tones just a fun build just because ....lol
cobraman Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 Nice but I think the original look was very sharp.
crazyrichard Posted July 25, 2015 Author Posted July 25, 2015 yes but the clear went yellow and i just love to do weathered .. not done yet so ..:) layer 2 of the patina roof is more like rust hinting to the fact usually the roof is a different color from the body when painted
wayne swayze Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 Nice but I think the original look was very sharp. Have to agree about the original being sharp. Too bad it yellowed on you.
crazyrichard Posted July 25, 2015 Author Posted July 25, 2015 yes whell nothing you can do .. oh yes weather it lol hahaha put on a 3th layer , went to powder now ... les red , more brown and more matt
gatorincebu Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 (edited) Great looking weathering! And yes I did like the way you originally built it.You can see where you put a lot of work into it. Though my personal taste is for more standard wheels and tires. Be Well Gator Edited July 27, 2015 by gatorincebu
crazyrichard Posted July 26, 2015 Author Posted July 26, 2015 thnx guys step 4 old green , very mild on ....when this is dry i can try to put more green on in places and make it look weathered off ... just playing with paints because the model is build so you cant just spray stuff
gatorincebu Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Now that really looks the part! great job on the weathering. Be Well Gator
crazyrichard Posted July 28, 2015 Author Posted July 28, 2015 thnx guys , still finetuning it and adding some small details .. will post pics later
crazyrichard Posted July 30, 2015 Author Posted July 30, 2015 2 days ago > more tones and weathering today > added a chevy parts decal on the back window made straps for the engine , one on the edge and one in the bed fixed to the floor made the chevy logo on the bed silver and weatherd it slightly used black to mimick shade for extra depth on the deeper parts
502 Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 I liked the original but I love the new patina version. The weathered smoothies look awesome on it. I would add in the side steps between the fender and the cab. I think that would complete it.
crazyrichard Posted September 28, 2015 Author Posted September 28, 2015 well this one has become one of those on going projects .. i work on it ounce in a while when bored ... put so much different stuff on it in teh past month lol .. here is how it looks atm ... added some stuff like standing exhausts .. not my favorite look but its different and kind of fits the theme
